Mary M. Peirson of West Grove

Mary M. Peirson, 83, of West Grove, died Friday, Feb. 14. She was the wife of the late Norwood M. Peirson Jr. with whom she spent 46 years in a beautiful and loving marriage. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the loves of her life. The backside of an old smokehouse is in ruins behind the Trimble House adjacent to the Newlin Grist Mill property in Concord Township. Tony Shahan, Newlin’s executive director, believes the old smokehouse was likely a brewhouse considering its location to the Trimble House and the fact that beer was considered food for mill workers.
