•Kevin Nickey, of Chadds Ford, graduated with a BSBA Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. Nickey was among more than 1,500 students who received degrees during the spring commencement exercises.
•Luis E Aldrete, of Chadds Ford, a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, supply chain management during the University of Rhode Island’s 132nd commencement this spring.
Bruce B. Yelton, 69, died at his home in West Chester on July 7.

Born in Wilmington, to Everett Brown Yelton II and Madelyn Baetz Yelton, Bruce grew up in Victoria, Texas, Orange, Texas, and West Chester. He graduated from Tower Hill School in Wilmington. He then studied at Trinity College and RPI, where he earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering degree in 1972. After graduation, Bruce worked for the Edlon Corporation, a division of Pfaudler, in both Avondale, and Long Island, N.Y., retiring in 1986.
After his retirement, Bruce discovered his true passion and second career in community service and volunteerism. He served as a Pocopson Township supervisor and auditor, Tower Hill Alumni Representative and volunteered at Kennett Middle School’s After the Bell Program and The Barn at Spring Brook Farm.
One of Bruce’s greatest joys was his informal nickname of Uncle Bruce. He thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent with his nieces Andromeda Yelton and her husband Grant Gould of Somerville, Mass.; Allison Yelton and her husband Brent Black of Wallingford, Vt.; Jaime Manlove of Wilmington; nephew Jerett Yelton, and wife Megan Yelton of Norwalk, Conn. and great nieces and nephews. Over the years, Bruce never missed an opportunity to attend their sporting events and was always seen beaming with pride at their accomplishments. It was noted on more than one occasion that Uncle Bruce attended more of Jaime’s games than most parents!
Bruce was passionate about genealogy and spent many years working on family lineage tracing some ancestors back to the early 1600s. His work took him to Salt Lake City and numerous county courthouses throughout the country in pursuit of family records.
Bruce was a dedicated recycler, an advocate for open spaces and a quiet philanthropist. He enjoyed hiking and exploring the country by train and was always interested in a conversation about American history, antique cars and NFL football.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his older brother, Everett B. Yelton III. He will be dearly missed by his oldest brother, David Yelton and spouse Lillian Waugh of Morgantown, W.Va.; his younger sisters, Madelyn Yelton and partner Jeff Lyons of Elkton, Md.; Victoria Manlove and husband Joe Manlove of Wilmington, and sister-in-law Dianne Yelton of Londonderry, Vt.
As per Bruce’s expressed wishes, his body was cremated. No formal services will be held but the family will host a celebration of Bruce’s life at his farm on Sept. 8, from 2-4 p.m.

•Andrea M. Trago, 40, of Oxford, was arrested and charged with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act and with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, after the vehicle she was a passenger in was stopped for erratic driving, according to a police report. The incident occurred at 12:41 a.m. on July 16, in the 9000 block of Gap Newport Pike, in New Garden Township. Before the vehicle came to a stop, the report said, police observed the rear passenger, later identified as Trago, throw an item behind her.
•Police said Kalimah Z. White, 45, of Camp Hill, was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses, as well as with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act, after the 2017 Chevrolet she was operating was stopped for erratic driving. The incident occurred July 15 at 10:43 p.m., in the 9100 block of Gap Newport Pike, in New Garden Township. Upon making contact with White, the report said, police detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and a partially consumed marijuana cigarette was observed in an ashtray.
•Gerrod D. Hunter, 28, of Wilmington, was arrested and charged with DUI, related traffic offenses, as well as drug charges after the 2004 Dodge he was operating was observed traveling on the shoulder of the roadway and crossing the center dividing lines, a police report said. The incident occurred on July 14 at 7:13 p.m., in the 1200 block of Newark Road, in New Garden Township. Police said they were met with the odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the driver’s window when they approached.
•Police said Brian K. Brown, 48, of Joppa Town, Md. was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses, following a traffic stop for moving violations on July 12, in the 6700 block of Limestone Road, in New Garden Township. Police on stationary patrol observed a 2010 Cadillac pass them at a high rate of speed at 11:26 p.m., the report said. The report also said police observed him tailgating a vehicle while activating the brakes multiple times. He then abruptly swerved onto the shoulder before pulling over, according to police.
