Wayne David Stott

Wayne David Stott, 61, of Avondale, died suddenly while visiting New York City on Saturday, Dec. 8. He was born on Oct. 25, 1951 in Drexel Hill, the first son of David and Maxine (Cooke) Stott.

He attended Upper Darby High School and went on to graduate from Eastern University in 1975. On January 25th, 1975, he married Dolores (Wolfe) Stott at Drexel Hill Baptist Church. Lori and Wayne have one son, David Wayne Stott.

Wayne made a career of art and picture framing, having managed the Affordable Art division of the Heisman Gallery in Ardmore, then opening his own store in 1986, The Village Art Gallery, which operated in Chesterbrook until 2010.

Wayne had a passion for deep sea diving and when not swimming among them, always maintained tanks of fresh and saltwater fish in his home. He also enjoyed underwater photography, bike riding, and watching classic movies and TV programs. Since moving to Avondale in 2003, he and Lori have been members of the New London Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of more than 37 years, Lori, his son David, mother Maxine Stott as well as his three brothers, Stephen, Donald and Timothy. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Jean Walton.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, David Stott, in August 2005.

There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 14, at the Christian Life Center at 125 Saginaw Road in New London Township. A funeral service will follow, with a luncheon to follow. Burial will be private.
