Pennsbury Township gives approval for Crosslands’ plan

Pennsbury Supervisors Approve Crosslands Conditional Use Application

Pennsbury Township July 20 Supervisors meeting business highlight was the conditional use approval of Crosslands land development plan which addressed the updating of the skilled care unit. Township conditional approval is predicated on specific conditions and review and separate approval from the Chester County Health Department. The Crosslands’ plan includes the addition of seven additional rooms in the skilled care unit, updating the health care facility and a change to the parking.

Township Solicitor Tom Oeste said “the conditional use approval is predicated on Crosslands compliance with the plan approved by the township planning commission, engineering review, certification the existing sewer system is adequate to support the minor expansion and payment of Pennsbury Township fees incurred for the project.”

See Crosslands webpagehttp://kcc.kendal.org/features/WhatsNewatCrosslands.aspx for additional details for the design changes planned for Crosslands Health Center. The renovation goals include: update the skilled nursing facility, renovate personal care areas, and create an integrated wellness and fitness center.

Other Business - Pennsbury Township has a new official seal emblem

Pennsbury Township resident Connor McShane unveiled a four foot diameter painting of Pennsbury Township’s new official emblem which he completed for his Eagle Scout project. Connor met with Township supervisor Aaron McIntyre to develop a symbolic emblem for the Pennsbury Township government’s official seal. The painting will be hung on the front interior wall of the Township building’s Harris Room. This is the site of the Township supervisor’s meetings.

Connor said “the emblem is very symbolic. It features similarities to the art and color pattern used in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s official seal. The Pennsbury seal features two horses with raised hoofs on adjacent sides of a center shield. The shield art includes the historic Brandywine River and a 13 star colonial American flag.” Connor also described the oak tree painted above the center shield upon which Connor painted the Pennsbury Township map outline. “The oak tree symbolizes our township’s strength and unity”. The new emblem shield is also decorated with a cornstalk and olive branch which Connor noted symbolize peace and prosperity.
