Eleanor J. Gray Miller, 83, of Avondale, died Saturday,
April 23 after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Miller
Sr.
She had two children but was Mom to the neighborhood. Her
love continued as she became our Grammy. She was a strong and independent woman
known for her love of reading and animals, her passion for gardening,
fishing, and swimming, and macaroni salad.
Born on April 26, 1927 in West Grove, she is survived
by two sons, Jeffrey C. Miller of Avondale and Robert E. Miller Jr. and wife
Angela Miller; two grandchildren, Brian and Jamie Miller of West Grove; her
sister Sylvia Toto of Kennett Square; many beloved family and friends; and
her dog Mickey.
She was preceeded in death by her parents Margaretta Lambert
Gray and Sylvester Gray; her grandson Christopher R. Miller;
and sisters Jenny Dunn and Thelma Corby.
A celebration of life service will be held at the
Avondale United Methodist Church, 3rd & Chatham St., on
April 28 at 6 p.m.
