Nancy B. Bork of West Grove

Nancy B. Bork, 76, of West Grove, died Saturday, May 2 at Jenners Pond in West Grove. She was the wife of John W. Bork, Jr., with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Anna Vogt Burdett.

She was an elementary school Teacher for the Oxford Area School District for 15 years, retiring in 1994. She was a graduate of Bartram High School in Southwest Philadelphia. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from West Chester University, and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania.

She was a member of the Manor Presbyterian Church in Cochranville, PA and the National Education Association.

Mrs. Bork enjoyed travelling, sewing, doing crafts and being with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Gary E. Bork and his wife Pam of Harrisburg, and Eric P. Bork of New York, NY, one daughter, Leslie A. Pellini and her husband Alan of Kennett Square, one brother, Richard Burdett of Upper Darby, and six grandchildren.

You are invited to visit with her family and friends on Wednesday, May 6 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Manor Presbyterian Church, 505 Street Road, Cochranville. Her funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Faggs Manor Cemetery, Cochranville.

Miriam E. Nilan of Kennett Square

Miriam E. Nilan, 94, of Kennett Square, died Friday, May 1, at the Franciscan Care Center in Hockessin, Del.  She was the wife of James Albert Nilan, with whom she shared 39 years of marriage, and who died in 1974.

Born in Landenberg, she was the daughter of the late Eveard and Bertha Alcorn Broomhall.

She was a Nurses Aid at Pocopson Home in West Chester for 21 years before retiring in 1977

Mrs. Nilan was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Kennett Square.

She enjoyed playing cards and trips to Atlantic City.

Mrs. Nilan is survived by three sons, Thomas Nilan of Newark, James Nilan and his wife Evelyn of Wilmington, and David Nilan of Kennett Square, one daughter, Patricia Konitzer of Kennett Square, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

You are invited to visit with her family and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5 at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, (Phone: 610-444-4116), and again on Wednesday morning, May 6, from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. at the funeral homes.  Her Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m.  at St. Patrick’s Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Kennett Square.

The family would like to thank Bret, Angela, Jane and the rest of the staff, for the special care given to their mother at the Franciscan Care Center.

Robert Cornelius London of West Grove

Robert Cornelius London, 89, of West Grove, formerly of Upland, Calif. died on Monday, April 27 at Jennersville Regional Hospital. He was the husband of Jean Campbell London, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

Born in Punxsutawney, he was the son of the late Paul and Martha Black London.

He was the plant supervisor at the Clairbourn School, San Marino, Calif. He retired in 2000.

He attended the First Church of Christ Scientist in West Chester.

Mr. London was a Lt. JG in the U.S. Navy, serving during WW II. He was involved in the invasion on Juno Beach, while serving on the LST 493.

He was a past member of the Claremont, Calif. Rotary club.

Mr. London enjoyed watching college basketball on TV and watching his son, grandson and granddaughter play soccer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Mark A. London and his wife Michelle of West Grove, and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one son, Ben Campbell London.

Services and burial will be private.

In memory of Mr. London, a contribution may be made to the First Church of Christ Scientist, 22 North High Street, West Chester PA 19382.
