SHINE in the Vines Set for Saturday, Nov. 11, at Galer Estate Vineyard & Winery in Kennett Square

 Fall event will benefit Chester County Hospital’s SHiNE program to support patients living with cancer in our community

: Cozy bonfires, great food and local wines set the atmosphere for this year’s SHINE in the Vines fundraising event at Galer Estate Vineyard and Winery in Kennett Square on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 3 to 7 p.m.

A new way to SHINE: This year’s event is laid back and open-house-style, rather than the formal gala held in years past. Casual, weather-appropriate attire is encouraged for this outdoor event for those 21 and older. Although the event theme has changed to a more relaxed feel, the goal remains the same: to raise money for Chester County Hospital’s SHINE program, a volunteer organization that provides vital services for patients of The Abramson Cancer Center at Chester County Hospital.

SHiNE assists patients living with cancer in Chester County and is dedicated to Lighting the way in cancer care, close to home. Proceeds from SHINE in the Vines will be used to directly benefit patients and their families by offsetting the costs of cancer care and support services offered by Abramson Cancer Center at Chester County Hospital. SHiNE is a completely volunteer based organization with medical supervision. Services provided are based on need and tailored to give every patient every advantage in their battle with cancer while maintaining an overhead of less than 2%. SHINE services include transportation to and from treatment, fitness and personal training memberships, workshops and support groups, a SHINE padfolio, a one-hour therapeutic massage with an oncology certified clinician, and a complimentary fitting and wig thanks to the generosity of participating salons.

Tickets may be purchased online or at the door and are $100 each. Sponsorships are still available and benefits include promotion and advertising, event tickets, and, at some levels, tickets for SHINE patients. Everyone attending will enjoy delicious wines and food from local food trucks, including Haute Wheels, Natalie’s Fine Food Truck, and The Tot Cart, s’mores by the fire, live music from MK&COL, and more. This year’s SHINE in the Vines will take place at Galer Estate Vineyard and Winery at 700 Folly Hill Rd. in Kennett Square.
