Robert spent his childhood in Chadds Ford and developed an early interest in art; encouraged and influenced by the art and artists of the area, he began developing his own style of work ... entering art competitions and winning awards, Stack entered and graduated from Tyler School of Art.  Using Watercolors and Gouache  mediums, his subjects are varied, ranging from natural subjects to architectural, equestrian and Civil War themes.  In his work,  light, color and composition take precedence over actual subject matter.  He chooses subjects more for their interesting shapes and forms, than their narrative content.  Lending itself to an air of mystery, sometimes he uses different shades of blue, and gets a dramatic contrast using light and shadow.

Spending time painting in Chadds Ford, Summer trips to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and Monhegan Island, Maine, his work has won awards in various  exhibits and  juried shows.  Robert Stack's work can be seen in Private and Corporate art collections on the East Coast.  Robert lives and paints in his studio, Wilmington, DE.
