Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Jerry Blavat is a legendary radio and TV personality, known as "The Geator with the Heater," ''The Boss with the Hot Sauce," and the "King of Philly Rock & Roll." He began his show business career at the age of 13 when he began as a dancer on the original Bandstand in 1953. In 1960 he became a disc jockey and by 1965 he produced and hosted his own TV show called "The Discophonic Scene" on Philly's WCAU-TV.
