Second Annual Kennett Rotary PetFest is coming Saturday May 13 Noon-4 p.m. at Anson Nixon Park in Kennett Square. The event is free admission and is rain or shine. Dogs on leashes are welcome along with cats in appropriate carriers.

PetFest this year will feature Lefty’s Fuzzy Butts Doggie 1k Walk, sponsored by Terry Lynn’s Pet Sitters. Lefty’s Walk starts at 2pm and costs $20 with registration at Eventbrite. Medals, T-Shirts and swag bags will bear available for fits 50 entrants.

Lefty’s Walk is a fun stroll through the woods of the park for dogs and their human companions. Water Bowls will be placed along the route.  Last year over 100 dogs walked in a light drizzle. Proceeds for Lefty’s Walk will go to La Mancha Animal Rescue.

We will also feature Bob’s Critters Exotic Animal Show. Bobs has been showing animals for over 30 years. The shows will run continuos fro 1pm to 3pm. Attendees will be able to handle a variety of snakes lizards and a tarantula.

Bob’s Critters  manager Mike Buleza says ”I will bring a variety of snakes, a bearded dragon, a blue tongue skink, a variety of geckos, turtles, a toad, a tarantula and hissing cockroaches. All of my animals are safe to touch and hold. I am an elementary school teacher who enjoys sharing my animals with others. I will set up a table with my critters on display and invite the children to touch and hold them if they choose to. Children of all ages really enjoy interacting with my critters. I have shared my fascinating animals at many community programs. I guarantee the children and adults will enjoy their experience.”

Pet Psychic Laurie Blomer will be on hand to help people communicate with their living or deceased pet. Laurie says  "As an animal communicator, or “pet psychic,” Laurie can help you communicate with your pets — both living and deceased — to better understand their thoughts, behaviors, and needs.She also teaches workshops to help people learn how to communicate with animals. Laurie will be giving pet readings at this year's PetFest. Come find out what your pets are thinking!

Photographer Danielle Vennard will be on hand to take photo portraits of attendees and their pets. Charcoal sketches of the photos will be available for purchase from Danielle.

Blessing of the Pets Every hour will be given by Rev Annalie Korengal of Unionville Presbyterean Church

Pet First Aid workshop will be given by Trish if PETS 1st Aid & CPR

Live Music by “Younger Than Charlie”  and Bruce Richards Group”

Food Trucks including LaBamba Mexican food,

Silent Auction with Pet and Non-Pet items….

Doggie Fashion Show, Dog Agility course,  Drees up your Pet Contest with prizes for Mr and Mrs Kennett Square…and Looks like Owner and Best Dressed

Adoptable Dogs and Cats on display from La Mancha and Forgotten Cats

Appearance by mascot   “Amyel”..The Husky,  will be made Amyel is a human size wolf mascot.

Rotary is community and business leaders making our local and global world a better place. Kennett Square Rotary meets Tuesdays at La Verona Restaurant for lunch at 1130 a.m. except for the third Tuesday when we meet a5pm. First time visitors and guests are welcome.
