ARTZ Philadelphia was founded on the belief that people living with dementia should be accorded the benefits of well-being and quality of life that others enjoy. The Museum is pleased to partner with ARTZ to provide these cultural and creative opportunities. There is no charge for this program, but registration is required. Votes for Women: A Visual History exhibition-themed gallery talk with Brandywine’s curator Amanda C. Burdan, Ph.D.
Join us on April 9th, when historical interpreter Noah Lewis will give a lecture on Ned Hector, an African American soldier who fought at the Battles of Brandwyine and Germantown.
Join us at the Chadds Ford Historical Society for a chance to meet Ned Hector, a free black soldier fighting in the Continental Army. During this unique event, visitors will get a first hand account of the Battle of Brandywine and learn what it was like to be an African American artilleryman during the Revolutionary War. Each year, the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art’s annual river cleanup helps to ensure cleaner water for communities that rely on the Brandywine River as a source for their drinking water; a healthier habitat for wildlife; and a safer environment for recreational activities. Since the event's inception, volunteers have removed more than 30 tons of trash from the banks of the Brandywine between Lenape and the Delaware state line.

Come to the Brandywine River Museum of Art to unwind, mingle and make art! Designed for adults who want to awaken their inner artists, this program will include inspiration from the exhibition Votes for Women: A Visual History and feature a hands-on needle-felting activity. Participants will follow simple instructions to create a one-of-a-kind felted object or accent that can be attached to a pin, barrette, magnet, or sewn onto a bag or clothing. No experience is necessary. Program fee includes art materials and light refreshments. BYOB!
CVC’s Annual Candlelight Vigil to
Remember Those Lost to Violent Crime Postponed
The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, Inc. (CVC) has made the difficult but absolutely necessary decision due to COVID-19 to postpone its Annual Candlelight Vigil and Memorial Service to remember loved ones and fallen law enforcement lost to violent crime over the years in Chester County originally scheduled for Thursday April 23rd.
A candlelight vigil is tentatively scheduled for June 18th at the Memorial Site in Kardon Park in Downingtown beginning at 7:00 p.m. The memorial service at the Central Presbyterian Church will not be held this year but we will gather at the Memorial Site for a brief remembrance ceremony.

Photographers are invited to explore the property and can gain insight into Wyeth’s creative process on an optional guided tour.
Participants will meet at the Brandywine River Museum of Art parking lot at 4:15 p.m. before driving their own vehicles to the farm. Water and bathrooms are available at the site. Participants are responsible for providing all art materials.

WEST CHESTER, PA –The Chester County COVID-19 Business Task Force will host the fourth in a series of free webinars on Thursday June 25th, 2020 at 11 a.m. This webinar will feature Dr. David Rubin of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and professor of pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Rubin is the director of the PolicyLab at CHOP, which has developed a model for specific counties that looks at weather, social distancing data, and population density of each county to predict future cases.
The majority of Dr. Rubin’s talk will center on the model and will include updated data from as recently as the day before the webinar. He will also cover more general issues like the definition of a virus and how COVID-19 is transmitted.
