Police Log Oct 16: Thefts, assault

Police are investigating a reported theft in Pennsbury Township on Penn Drive on Oct. 4. No details on what was stolen were released.

State police are also investigating the theft of a$4.97 Squishmallow from the East Marlborough Township Walmart on Oct. 3.

Someone spraypainted graffiti on a neighborhood clubhouse on a playground on Winston Lane in Pocopson Township on Oct. 2. Police are investigating.

Police said they arrested a 19-year-old man from Toughkenamon for stealing $64 worth of merchandise from the Walmart in East Marlborough Township on Sept. 30. The suspect was not identified in the report.

State police said John A. Hoffert, 59, of Lincoln University was cited for following too closely following a three-car rear-ender on Route 1 at School House Road on Sept. 11. According to the report, three cars were southbound on Route 1 approaching School House when an unknown vehicle came speeding up the left southbound lane and cut off the lead vehicle in the line of three. The first two vehicles stopped in time, but the third, driven by Hoffert, was unable to stop before striking the car in from of him.

Kennett Square Police Department

A police report said an arrest warrant was issued for Carlos Xicol-Maaz, 32, of Kennett Square. The report said he was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, following an altercation during which he allegedly struck a woman in the face. The incident occurred on Oct. 3, at approximately 10:26 p.m. in the 500 block of E. South Street. Xicol-Maaz had fled the scene prior to police arrival and has not been located. The warrant was issued on Oct. 4, by District Court 15-3-04.
