Chadds Ford in brief

Chadds Ford Township supervisors Monday night voted to spend almost $300,00 in AERPA funds on several township projects. The Walkable Chadds Ford project will get $207,000, the Sewer Authority will get $40,000, and while Painters Crossing Condominium HOA will get $50,000 for its stream restoration project.

The board awarded a winter maintenance contract to MOR Construction Service of Glen Mills. $1,670 for two years from Oct. 1 of this year to Sept. 30 of 2026. Trigg said the township has the option of extending the contract for another two years in two one-year increments. A four-year contract would cost $3,340. Supervisors opted for the straight two-year contract.

Supervisors also accepted two resignations from volunteer positions. Lisa Wenrich resigned as deputy fire marshal and Bruce Prabel resigned as a member of the Chadds Ford Finance Committee. Supervisors’ Vice Chair Timotha Trigg thanked both for their service to the township and mentioned that Prabel has been a volunteer in the township for 45 years.

The township is also dealing with a sinkhole repair on High Ridge Road. Township Manager Lacey Faber said the sinkhole developed behind the inlets on High Ridge. She said the township got a price of $2,000 to excavate and repair any leaks, and then restore the road. If they find anything more, it will be discussed. “Right now, we’re hoping it’s just a sinkhole,” she said. Supervisors voted to pay the $2,000 and consider other work that it deems necessary for a full repair, subject to the approval of the township engineer.
