Hundreds of pets in the four-state area will be looking for homes for the holidays as part of Brandywine Valley SPCA’s (BVSPCA) December Mega Adoption Event® in partnership with Petco Love, BOBS from Skechers® and Discover. The winter event will be held at all BVSPCA locations along with nine other regional participating shelters on Dec. 9 and 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens at all participating shelters will be available for just $35 adoption fees throughout the event.
“Our Megas are an amazing experience, to see so many pets who have lost everything be chosen by folks who are eager to give them a new life full of love,” said Adam Lamb, BVSPCA CEO. “By bringing this Mega Adoption Event into our campuses and into the shelters of our partners, we are looking to save more lives, reach more local adopters, and open space to more animals in need in our region and beyond.”

The Mega Adoption event will be held at all BVSPCA locations in West Chester, Plymouth Meeting, New Castle, Dover, Georgetown, and the Animal Rescue Center. Other organizations also participating in the Mega Adoption Event include ACCT Philly, Animal Adoption Center (AAC), Animal Care Shelter for Kent County, Animal Rescue League of Berks County, BARCS, Faithful Friends Animal Society, Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center, Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter, and Montgomery County Animal Shelter (Texas).
All participating locations will offer a $35 adoption fee for any puppy, kitten, dog, or cat. The adoption fee includes everything typically included in adoption fees at participating locations. The BVSPCA adoption fees include microchip, spay/neuter, current vaccines, and a free follow-up wellness visit at a BVSPCA Animal Health Center.
A limited number of early access Fast Passes will be available for BVSPCA locations in West Chester, New Castle, Georgetown, and the Animal Rescue Center. Fast Passes give potential adopters access at 10 a.m., an hour ahead of general admission.
Adopters should bring a leash and collar for a dog adoption (also available for purchase), a carrier for a cat (cardboard carriers will be available for purchase), a valid ID, and the adoption fee. The BVSPCA recommends bringing any dogs into the home to meet a potential new canine family member. Outdoor meet-and-greet areas will be available and meets will be facilitated at all BVSPCA locations.
BVSPCA-led Mega Adoption Events powered by Petco Love and BOBS from Skechers® over the last eight years have found homes for more than 13,000 pets.
