State police from the Media barracks are investigating a reported theft of $13,000 worth of jewelry from a 61-year-old woman from Glen Mills on July 28. The theft took place on Applied Bank Boulevard in Concord Township, but no specific address was given. According to police, two unidentified people removed jewelry from the victim's person and fled the scene in a white van. Items stolen include a 1.5-karat ring valued at $11,500 and a gold chain valued at $2,000.

Kennett Square Police Department

Borough police said Rover Santos-Gomez was arrested for DUI on July 16 shortly before 1 a.m. According to the police report, officers detected the odor of alcohol after making contact with him during a traffic stop in the 500 block of Lafayette Street. Field sobriety tests indicated impairment and a chemical test revealed his blood alcohol level was 0.132 percent.

On Monday, July 24, at approximately 1:39 p.m., Kennett Square police were dispatched to W. Cypress Street and Church Alley for a possible alcohol overdose. According to police, the reporting party said a 60-year-old male, later identified as Stephen Dunn, was unconscious next to a black SUV. Upon arrival, officers said they observed Dunn laying on the grass, partially under the driver's side of his vehicle with the driver's side door open and the keys to the vehicle on the floorboard of the driver's seat. Dunn was semi-conscious and could not formulate a complete sentence. When asked, he stated he had four to five beers earlier in the day and had fallen getting out of his vehicle and could not get up. While speaking with Dunn, Officers detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his person and breath. Charges of DUI were filed.

Police said Orlando Quiix-Che, of Kennett Square, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment following an incident in the 400 block of E. South Street. According to the police report, Quiix-Che and one of his roommates got into an argument that turned physical. The victim reportedly told officers that Quiix-Che had hit him and then grabbed a knife. The incident happened at 10:38 p.m. on July 28.
