Media Barracks
• Two people were injured and transported following a two-car crash on Smithbridge Road in Concord Township on June 23. Details of the accident were not in the report other than to say it happened at 4:12 p.m. The names and ages of the drivers were redacted. Both were taken to Crozer Chester Hospital.
• An unidentified driver was cited for running a red light and crashing into another vehicle at Route 1 and Cheyney Road in Concord Township on June 21. According to the police report, the offending driver was northbound on Route 1 and struck another vehicle making a left turn onto Route 1 from southbound Cheyney Road. The accident happened at 12:04 p.m. No injuries were reported.
Avondale Barracks
• Police said they arrested a 22-year-old from Chadds Ford for DUI following a traffic stop in East Marlborough Township on June 24. The driver, unidentified in the report, was stopped on East Doe Run Road just east of N. Union Street at 12:34 a.m. No reason for the stop was mentioned in the report, but it said the smell of alcohol was present and that field sobriety tests indicated the man was driving impaired. A breath test confirmed the presence of alcohol in his system.
• A 48-year-old Avondale woman faces shoplifting charges following a retail theft at the East Marlborough Township Walmart on June 22. The suspect is accused of stealing $166 worth of merchandise.
• Another shoplifting incident at the East Marlborough Township Walmart happened on June 23. A 51-year-old man from Newark was arrested for under ringing multiple items. The report did not name the suspect.
• On June 22 police arrested a Bloomington, Ill. man for DUI in Kennett Township. • State police are investigating a case of criminal mischief in which a car was damaged and needs repairs costing $1,000 or more. The incident happened in the 100-block of Federal Walk in East Marlborough Township.
• Police arrested a 78-year-old man from Midlothian, Va., for DUI in Pennsbury Township on June 20. The arrest followed a traffic stop on Route 1 at Old Baltimore Pike at 9:22 p.m. No reason for the traffic stop was given in the report.
• A 63-year-old Kennett Square man was arrested for DUI in Kennett Township on June 17. Neither the man’s name nor the reason for the stop were provided. The incident happened at 12:57 a.m.
• State police arrested a 40-year-old man, not identified, from Upper Chichester for DUI in Kennett Township on June 13. No reason for the stop was given but the report said field sobriety tests indicated impairment. The traffic stop was made at 11:22 p.m. on Route 1 at Woodchuck Way.
• On June 8, shortly before midnight, troopers from the Avondale barracks arrested a 30-year-old man from Oxford for DUI. The report did not identify the driver but said police made the traffic stop on E. Baltimore Pike at Village Drive in East Marlborough Township.
