Pennsbury in brief

Pennsbury Township Supervisors Wednesday night approved an amendment to the township’s zoning ordinance related to solar panels. Planning Commission Chairman Dennis Smith said the major factor in the amendment is that some residents wanting to install rooftop solar systems might not need to go through a conditional use hearing for approval. The key element, he said, is that the solar panels are not visible from the road.

Supervisors gave township employees a slight raise during the July 20 meeting. While not going into the specifics of all the raises, Chairman Aaron McIntyre said the increases were to help the employees deal with inflation, even though the raises don’t fully offset it.
