School is back

Chadds Ford Elementary School Principal Danielle Clark greets students as they arrive for the first day of the new school year.

School bells are ringing again, and the kids are back in class. Chadds Ford Elementary School Principal Danielle Clark is looking forward to the 2021-2022 academic year.

“It’s fantastic to start a more normal school year,” she said while greeting early drop-offs at the school and waiting for the buses to arrive. The student body at the school is expected to be 357 students.

To say that Clark had an odd start to her term as CFES principal would be an understatement. She was hired in December of 2019 to replace Shawn Dutkiewicz. But in less than three months, in-classroom schooling stopped because of the COVID pandemic.

“I haven’t experienced a May Fair yet,” Clark said in anticipation of an upbeat and engaging year.

“We’re looking forward to making connections and building relationships. We want the kids to flourish socially and emotionally, as well as academically,” she said.

His big smile and stature match his big personality and he’s more than ready to shower a very lucky family with all his love. To help with their recent transport of over 100 animals from Louisiana in response to Hurricane Ida, the shelter is currently offering: Adopt 1 to save 2! Waived fees for all animals at all locations from Aug. 26 to Sept. 5. You will rescue Ziggy while making room for a hurricane rescue.

Snuggles

Snuggles

Snuggles is one of 54 cats that were recently rescued from a hoarding case. Despite the hardship she faced, this gorgeous girl remains in good spirits and is a lover. She enjoys people, pets, and would likely be okay sharing her home with another kitty. To help with their recent transport of over 100 animals from Louisiana in response to Hurricane Ida, the shelter is currently offering: Adopt 1 to save 2! Waived fees for all animals at all locations from Aug. 26 to Sept. 5. You will rescue Snuggles while making room for a hurricane rescue.
