Chadds Ford budget for 2020

Chadds Ford Township now has a budget for 2020 and, as previously reported, taxes will hold steady. Supervisors passed the budget during their Dec. 17 work session.

The budget is balanced with revenues and expenses anticipated to be $1.145 million. Township property tax millage rates remain at 0.882 mils for properties in a hydrant zone and 0.787 if outside of such a zone.

Total township property taxes include the hydrant tax at 0.095 mils, 0.280 mils for the open space fund, 0.012 mils for the Rachel Kohl Library, and 0.495 mils for the general fund. (A mil is a tax oo $1 for every $1,000 in assessed property value.)

The supervisors’ next meeting will be the state-mandated reorganization meeting on Monday, Jan. 6.

The board voted to transfer $15,000 from the township's Fee-in-Lieu Fund to the Walkable  Chadds Ford Fund to pay a consultant's bill.

Supervisors Chairman Frank Murphy announced that the township building will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25 for Christmas.

He also said there will be a special meeting at 6 p.m. in the township building on Jan. 15. That meeting will have a presentation by the Delaware County Planning Commission Department regarding an official map.

Following that meeting, supervisors and members of the township Planning Commission will hold a joint meeting.
