• It’s Wine and Jazz at Longwood this Saturday, June 1. Visitors can enjoy spectacular live jazz by award-winning musicians throughout the Gardens, all while savoring wines from around the world. Enjoy refreshing Main Fountain Garden performances throughout the day and cap off the evening with our In the Mood Illuminated Fountain Performance. • The bi-annual Girls on the Run and STRIDE for Boys 5K will be held at 9 a.m. this Saturday, June 1 at the New Garden Airport in Toughkenamon. The event celebrates the culmination of the girls’ and boys’ 10-week running and self-esteem programs. There is still time to register if you wish to join the hundreds of girls and boys, as well as their buddies and community runners for this inspirational run. Register now.

• The Sin City Band will be appearing at the Friends Folk Club on Friday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring nonperishable food items which will be given to the local area food cupboards. • PAWS for People will hold training sessions for potential pet therapy teams in Kennett Square on June 13 and 27. Both sessions are from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and both are required. They will be held at The Friends Home, 147 W. State Street. Anyone with a gentle, people-friendly pet who is interested in volunteering time to work with children and adults with varying needs should attend. Therapy teams consist of one volunteer and one pet who have both completed rigorous training and testing. Visitation sites range from nursing homes and hospitals to schools and libraries, with a wide variety of programs including eldercare, psychiatric support, developmental disabilities, literacy skills development and many more. • The 2019 Anson B. Nixon Park free Summer Concert Series in Kennett Square opens on Wednesday, June 19 with the group Western Centuries from Seattle, Wash. On June 26, All Good People, a tribute to the group Yes, will perform. Shows start promptly at 7 p.m. and run until 9 p.m. with a brief intermission every Wednesday through Aug. 7. Dinner is available for purchase from area restaurants at all performances, with desserts offered by La Michoacana Ice Cream and Sweet Magnolia Bakery.

• Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center presents living rock legend Dave Mason on the Main Stage. Mason’s Feelin’ Alright Tour comes to the Knauer on Tuesday, August 27 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be available to Uptown! Members in a one-day presale, Thursday, May 30 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, May 31.
