PennDOT has announced the following road projects, which are weather-dependent and could affect residents in the greater Chadds Ford area during the week of Aug. 26 through Sept. 1. Motorists are urged to allow extra time if they are traveling through one of the construction zones.

• A single lane closure is scheduled on northbound Route 41 between Route 372 and Farm Lane in Atglen Borough, Chester County, on Thursday, Aug. 31, through Friday, Sept. 1, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., for bridge construction.

• Birmingham Road is scheduled to close between Route 52 and Riflery Drive in Birmingham Township, on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., for pipe replacement. During construction, Birmingham Road motorists will be detoured over Route 926, Route 202, High Street and Route 52.

• On Mattson Road in Concord Township, storm and sanitary sewer work is expected to for a few weeks. During work periods, single lane road closures will take place, with appropriate signage and flaggers.

• Stargazers Village is scheduled to restrict Strasburg Road, Romansville Road and Shadyside Road in West Bradford Township, beginning Monday, Aug. 28, through mid-September, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. for roundabout construction. The work schedule is:
·        Lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Strasburg Road between Stargazer Road and Sunset Drive;
·        Romansville Road is scheduled to close between Lone Eagle Road and Strasburg Road. During construction, Romansville Road motorists will be detoured over West Chester Road, Route 162 (Embreeville Road), Hazelwood Avenue and Marshallton-Thorndale Road; and
·        Shadyside Road is scheduled to close between Broad Run Road and Strasburg Road. During construction, Shadyside Road motorists will be detoured over Broad Run Road and Leids Road.

• Lane restrictions will be in place this Friday night on southbound Route 202, for work to shorten the construction area at the southbound Route 202 exit ramp to Route 30 and Business Route 30. Southbound Route 202 will be reduced from three-lanes-to-two from 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, to 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, between the Route 401 and Boot Road interchanges, as crews remove the construction barrier from the section of the work area immediately west of where the single lane ramp exits southbound Route 202.

• Lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Newark Road between Route 41 and New Garden Road on Monday, Aug. 28, through Saturday, Sept. 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for widening activities as part of a project to improve travel and safety at the intersection of Route 41 (and Newark Road in New Garden Township. The project is scheduled to be completed in spring 2018.

• Construction will begin Monday, Aug. 28, to rehabilitate the structurally deficient bridge carrying Township Road over Route 1 in Lower Oxford Township. Construction on the bridge is expected to be completed in late September. Due to the nature of the bridge repairs, Township Road will be closed and detoured during construction between Cullen Road and Hall Road. Motorists will be directed to use Route 10, Conner Road and Township Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.

• Periodic lane restrictions on Route 322 between Route 1 and Clayton Park Drive continue through Oct. 20 as part of the reconstruction and road widening of Route 322.
