Gertrude Short Henderson, 95, of West Chester, died Wednesday June 11, at her daughter’s home in West Chester.  She was the wife of the late John Joseph Henderson Sr. who died in 1965 and with whom she shared 25 years of marriage.

Born in Wilkinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ira and the late Lillian Pearl (Auger) Short.

Gertrude was a 1938 graduate of Temple University School of Dental Hygiene. She worked as a dental hygienist for 42 years.

She was a lover of all kids and enjoyed caring for them well into her retirement years.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan H. Agostini (Claude) of West Chester, and Sandra H. Cecchi (Bryan) of Media; two sons, John J. Henderson Jr. (Susan) of West Chester, and Robert A. Henderson of Chatham; 11 grandchildren, Jason (Dawn), Christopher (Krista), Daniel, Joe, Jack, Mark, Paul (Erin) Bethany, Tyler, Evan, and Jeannette and four great grandchildren, Emily, Dalton, Kahlen, and Cody.
