Earl Louis Minor Sr., 88, of New Castle, Del., died Thursday, Nov. 28, at Serenity Gardens. He was the husband of June Elizabeth Baker Minor, who passed away in 2011 and with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
Born in Ercildoun, Pa., he was the son of the late Abram and Susan Lewis Minor.
Earl was an Inspector at Chrysler Corporation in Newark, DE for 27 years.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, Kelton, Pa., and the UAW Local No. 1183, Newark, Del.
Earl enjoyed singing, playing the Harmonica, traveling, telling stories about the family history, being with his grandsons and his Yorkies. He was an automobile enthusiast.
He is survived by three sons, Earl Louis Minor, Jr. and his wife Maurisa of West Grove, Gary Allen Minor and his wife Lisa of Newark, Del., and Jay Russell Minor, Sr. and his wife Teresa of Oxford; two daughters, Carolyn Elizabeth Stokes of Bear, Del. and Christine Robin Peebles and her husband Allen of New Castle, Del.; two brothers, Philip T. Minor, Sr. and his wife Marian of Florida and Ronald A. Minor and his wife Delores of Hampton, Va.; four sisters, Betty L. Bantum of New Castle, Frances Brown and her husband Harold of Avondale, Corrine V. Walton of Whitehall, Md. and Iris R. Brown of Wilmington; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by one brother, James Ernest Minor and two sisters, Theresa Jones and Lydia Johnson
You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, at the Cedars Church of Christ, 511 Greenbank Road in Wilmington. His funeral service will follow. Burial will be at the Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer, Pa.
