• An 18-year-old from West
Chester was arrested on Sept. 2 for DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia
while attending the Garnet Valley/Unionville High School football game. Police
said the accused had a glass smoking pipe in his possession.
• State police are continuing
their investigation into stolen firearms that has, to date, resulted in the
arrest of two men and three women. A report said the group stole a number of
antique firearms from a home on Concord Road in Concord Township between May 25
and June 8. A report said the accused were selling the weapons to private
citizens and an authorized firearms dealer. A large number of weapons have been
recovered or accounted for and have been returned to the owner, police said.
• Three 16-year-old youths, two
identified as being from Chadds Ford, are accused of burglary and criminal
mischief following their arrests from an April incident in which $25,000 in
damage was caused in a vacant building at 161 Wilmington-West Chester Pike. A
police report said the group, including a 14-year-old suspect who is also
reported to be from Chadds Ford, broke into the building through a rear window.
The incident happened between 1 p.m., April 26, and 10 a.m., April 27.
• Police charged Steven Golden,
42, of Allentown, with DUI after a traffic stop near the Texas Roadhouse
parking lot on Sept. 4. A report said Golden was stopped for running a red
light. It was then that troopers identified him as driving under the influence, the
report said.
• Kaitlyn McCrossin, 23, of
Garnet Valley was arrested for DUI after state troopers stopped her for
speeding on Sept. 4, a police report said. The incident happened on Spring
Valley Road at Temple Road in Concord Township.
• State police from Troop J, Avondale will hold a child safety seat
inspection at the Avondale Fire Co., 23 Firehouse Way, Sept. 22, from 4-8 p.m.
