Unionville High School Hosts PMEA Region VI Band Festival

Saturday, March 15 at 2:30 P.M.

 Unionville High School is proud to host the 2014 PMEA Region VI Band Festival.  One hundred twenty-eight students have advanced from the district competition to form a collective concert band from 46 high schools in the 5-county area.   The group will gather in Kennett Square to perform selections including Andante and Tranquillo, Short Ride in a Fast Machine, Saucedo’s 1st movement of his First Symphony for Band, When Jesus Wept, El Camino Real and the Star Spangled Banner.

The student musicians will participate in marathon rehearsals (Thursday – Saturday) to perfect a sound that rivals university-level performers.

Guest Conductor Richard L. Saucedo, a 31-year award-winning band director from

Indiana, is a freelance arranger and composer known for his numerous marching band arrangements, concert band works and choral compositions.

When:  Saturday, March 15, 2:30 p.m.

Where:  Unionville High School, 750 Unionville Rd. (PA Route 82), Kennett Square

Tickets:  Adults, $6; students and senior citizens, $4; ages 5 and under, free
