In 2002, after a career as a technical writer, I started taking classes in Acrylic and Oil painting. I started out painting landscapes and still life. I would always be drawn to abstract art, but never thought I could make the switch from realism to abstract. I was wrong. Painting abstracts has opened up a whole new world for me as an artist. I know where a painting is starting depending on the color scheme, but where it ends up is always a surprise. I enjoy painting in layers, sometimes building upon the colors, other times scraping to reveal the color scheme underneath.
