Along the Ford

Around Town April 30

Virtual storytime from Rachel Kohl Library.

The Rachel Kohl Library is offering virtual storytimes on Facebook. Virtual storytimes with Ms. Mindy are Fridays at 11:30 a.m. If you can’t make it for the live stream, you can always go back and watch it later. Be sure to check the library’s Facebook for any changes to the schedule.

The Chester County Historical Society will hold a virtual book discussion from 2-3:30 p.m. on May 14. The discussion will be about “Why They Marched: Untold Stories of the Women Who Fought for the Right to Vote.” Looking beyond the national leadership of the suffrage movement, an acclaimed historian gives voice to the thousands of women from different backgrounds, races, and religions whose local passion and protest resounded throughout the land,” — excerpt from Amazon.com. To obtain Zoom login, contact eendslow@chestercohistorical.org.

While the Chester County Art Association remains closed until further notice, the association is still offering ways of being creative at home. Go to the bottom of CCAA’s home page for information on specific projects.

The Chadds Ford Historical Society is offering a virtual tour of its site. Take the tour here.
