More than 30 local employers are scheduled to participate in the latest Coatesville Job and Career Fair.
The free event will take place Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the CCIU - Gordon Early Literacy Center, 351 Kersey Street in Coatesville. The Job and Career Fair is open to the public, and candidates of all ages, experience levels and industries are encouraged to attend.
All job seekers over the age of 18 who are looking for work or a better paying job are welcome, but should be professionally dressed and come prepared with resumes.
“The previous job fairs held in Coatesville have been a tremendous success,” said Pat Bokovitz, Director of the Chester County Department of Community Development and the County’s Workforce Development Board. “More than 175 people attended each event and the employers who took part were very pleased with the turn out.
“With the many employment opportunities around the county, it is critical to have regular events like this one where employers can meet with job seekers to match employer needs with potential employee skills,” added Bokovitz.

Families are invited to join author/illustrator Barbara McClintock as she shares her love of books and illustrating during a fun and interactive reading of her book, The Five Forms. The third annual Potts Meadow Holiday Tree Lighting is this Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Barn Shops across Route 1 from the meadow. Festivities, which begin at 5 p.m., include holiday music, hot chocolate and food for purchase from Chadds Café and a special visit from Santa Claus. The actual tree lighting is at 6 p.m. Visitors are welcome to bring a lawn chair to relax around the bonfires. Parking will be available exclusively at the Brandywine River Museum of Art, with free shuttle service to the Chadds Ford Barn Shops. No parking will be available at the shops.

Cross the finish line before you dine! Join us for an exciting Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot beginning at Garnet Valley High School in Glen Mills, Delaware County, PA. USATF Certified Race consists of a chip timed 5K Run or Walk, a 1 Mile Walk or Roll (wheelchairs, strollers, walkers), and a Kids Fun Run over paved terrain. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Safe Harbor of Chester County, a local organization that provides food and shelter to those in need. Tech t-shirt provided for the first 800 preregistered racers! Refreshments and music pre and post race! Awards ceremony will occur at 9:50am. Awards for the top finishers in each age group. An Olde Ridge Village tradition continues on Saturday, Nov. 30, when Santa and one of his reindeer will be making their annual trek to Olde Ridge Village. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be inside Salon Sestra from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The reindeer will be outside.
