Classical Guitar Concert
Jan 23 @ 18:30 – 19:30

Interior Castle Ministries (ICM), the new church development founded by Sandy and Doug Essinger-Hileman, is committed to building a community of faith which seeks to strengthen the welfare of our community and to share God's hospitality, particularly with those estranged from or marginalized by established faith communities.

We believe that part of our calling is to create opportunities for good fellowship around good music and food.  As part of that commitment, ICM is hosting an evening of music with classical guitarist Zachary Grim on Thursday, January 23, at 6:30pm at Birmingham Friends Meeting.

If you're not familiar with ICM, please visit our website. You can get a good idea of our goals for 2014 in our article on the success of our last local event, a popup coffeehouse in one of the fields of Wynnorr Farms, http://www.interior-castle.org/?p=425. You can learn more about our goals for this concert in our website article, http://www.interior-

castle.org/?p=576 or our video ad, http://youtu.be/6fYMbVgdNDI.

This concert is being offered free of charge, so that anyone interested can enjoy good fellowship around good food, drink and music, and get more acquainted with the ministry of ICM. Donations will be accepted from anyone interested in making them, but donations are not required nor expected.

For more information, please visit ICM's website at www.interior- castle.org or call Doug at (484) 887-8096. All are invited to join us for this evening of good music, good fellowship and good food!

Dubac's THE MALE INTELLECT: an oxymoron?

Written and Performed by Robert Dubac
Thursday, January 23, 2014 to Sunday, January 26, 2014

Thursday - 7pm

Friday - 8pm

Saturday = 2pm and 8pm

Sunday - 2pm

Hilarious' is the only way to describe THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON? You will laugh non-stop for ninety minutes as Robert Dubac ransacks his brain to answer the age old question, "What do women want?" All while drinking a beer. Dubac has crafted an hysterical one man multi-character show that tackles the babble of the sexes with precision and wit. With a shrug of his shoulders or a crook of his neck, Robert Dubac seamlessly transforms himself into five alter egos - each offering their own brand of misguided advice on how to straddle the gender gap.

Hailed by critics and audiences alike, THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON? Is a rare thing; a clever combination of theater and stand-up comedy that is laugh-out-loud funny, provocative and insightful all at once. There are two types of people who should rush and see it - men and women!

"Dubac isn't one to bash men or women. He zings both equally and without hostility. He makes the process funny and entertaining, and his sharply written, nicely put together, skillfully presented show certainly is that. It is adeptly conceived, refreshingly and comically stated, and he has no trouble keeping it up for a quite diverting 90 minutes." Philadelphia Inquirer

“…full of wickedly funny observations… the male intellect is the kind of indisputably riotous show that sets off regular explosions of laughter.” Miami Herald

"Hilarious! Guys, put down that beer and see this show!" Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel

He has been playing original music since picking up the guitar, and has grown a loyal following in his hometown Philadelphia music scene. With stints in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Jason is a staple in clubs from New York to Virginia. He and the C.O.P.O. move audiences to the dance floor, and Jason also performs upbeat acoustic music that tests the boundaries of the traditional singer-songwriter.

February 14th Sinatra Perfect for Valentines Evening! Anthony Singing Songs of Sinatra, Since he was a child, Anthony has been surrounded by Sinatra's music and has developed a strong appreciation for his musical mastery.  Growing up in Wilmington, Delaware, Anthony was infatuated with Sinatra and was inspired to play the saxaphone in school.  He has always loved singing and entertaining, and he enjoys telling jokes with his inviting personality.  Anthony's love of Sinatra and his music has only grown with age and has now inspired him to put together his Sinatra show.

“The Business of Illustrated Calendars” Exhibit Opens
Jan 25 @ 10:00 – 16:00

January 25 – May 18, 2014
A Date with Art: The Business of Illustrated Calendars Howard Pyle, Maxfield Parrish, Norman Rockwell and N.C. Wyeth—foremost illustrators in the first half of the 20th century—created some of their best-known images for advertising calendars. Calendars hung in millions of homes, shops and offices, providing artists with an opportunity to disseminate their work to a much broader audience than that for books or magazines.
A Date with Art: The Business of Illustrated Calendars introduces visitors to the once-thriving, lucrative business of illustrated calendars. From Parrish’s haunting work for General Electric’s Edison Mazda brand to Norman Rockwell’s
iconic images for the Boy Scouts of America, calendar images contributed greatly to an artist’s popular reputation. Yet just as these four artists reaped financial benefit and fame by creating art for calendars, the connection to commercial ventures at times undermined their critical reputations as artists. This exhibition will reveal the various ways in which Pyle, Parrish, Rockwell and Wyeth integrated calendar work into their careers, adapting to shifting views of contemporary art, illustration and business.

N.C. Wyeth’s America in the Making – Exhibit Opens
Jan 25 @ 10:00 – 16:00

January 25 to May 18, 2014
Images of inspirational and patriotic events in American history, from
Coronado’s 16th-century expedition through the Southwest to Abraham
Lincoln’s second inaugural address in 1865, will be on view in this exhibition.
N.C. Wyeth’s America in the Making features 12 dramatic paintings, created
by the artist in the late 1930s for a popular advertising calendar, and shows
Wyeth’s renowned mastery of stirring action and authentic detail. Props from
the artist’s Chadds Ford studio, such as a life mask of Abraham Lincoln, a
coonskin cap and a Kentucky rifle, will provide fascinating insight into how
Wyeth created these paintings. Visitors will be encouraged to record a calendar
image of their own that depicts an important event from American history.
The America in the Making paintings are on loan from the collection of
the Brunnier Art Museum of Iowa State University in Ames. An illustrated
catalogue from the Brunnier Art Museum will be available.

THE MALE INTELLECT: an oxymoron – Opens Wilmington Theater Co
Jan 25 @ 20:00 – 21:00

Dubac's THE MALE INTELLECT: an oxymoron?

Written and Performed by Robert Dubac
Thursday, January 23, 2014 to Sunday, January 26, 2014

Thursday - 7pm

Friday - 8pm

Saturday = 2pm and 8pm
