Worship Summit Live Virtual Educational Event to Uncover Best Practices for Live Streaming Worship Services
May 20 @ 11:00 – May 21 @ 15:00

Following five popular online educational sessions, Worship Summit Live is back for a Summer virtual edition. On Thursday, May 20, 2021, from 12 to 5 p.m. (ET), Worship Summit Live 6 will feature the latest technologies for worship streaming. Speakers will  demonstrate the best practices for recording and live streaming worship celebrations. Attendees can view technical sessions at Worship Summit Live for free, as well as access a separate networking and collaboration post-Summit meeting the following day, May 21. That Zoom meeting will be held Friday, May 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. ET, with tickets for access only $5.

Since last year when houses of worship scrambled to reach their congregations virtually, worship leaders and volunteers have dramatically transformed their audio and visual technical skills for video production and live streaming. To build on that momentum, this two-day event will focus intently on technical topics, with deep dives into video production software, audio technologies and content delivery methods--from Facebook and YouTube to Zoom.

This edition will feature a brand new “Volunteer awards,” where ten deserving volunteers nominated by their houses of worship will receive PTZOptics webcams. To nominate a volunteer, go to https://worshipsummit.live/ Attendees will also see worship streaming tips from Seth Haberman, known as the “Digital Pastor,” and AJay Holmes, the founder of TechnoBabble, LLC, a musician and current president of the Antioch Baptist Church media ministry. The live stream will kick off with a pre-show at 11 a.m., where Ariel Viera, known as “Urbanist,” will give a live streaming tour of houses of worship from New York City. All registrants will be entered to win a HuddleCamHD SimplTrack2 robotic tracking camera!

PTZOptics, a manufacturer of robotic pan, tilt, zoom camera solutions for a variety of broadcast and live streaming applications, is hosting Worship Summit Live 6. The schedule is available at: worshipsummit.live. The live stream is free, and anyone interested in networking within the collaborative Zoom meeting the following day can purchase a pass at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/worship-summit-live-6-technical-training-for-church-media-professionals-tickets-141422575731  PTZOptics is the sister-company to HuddleCamHD, manufacturers of professional video conferencing cameras.

CCArts transforms outdoor field into a marketplace of fine handcrafted gifts & delicious food once a month to support local artists  and food vendors.

The Center for the Creative Arts launches a monthly outdoor market on Sunday, May 2, 2021 11am-3pm. “It is our hope that this  farmers market meets artisan show will become a community gathering place that nourishes people’s bodies and spirits with food  and art,” says Jennifer Hartz, CCArts Program Director and Market Coordinator. “When Jennifer brought this idea to one of our staff  meetings, I was really excited to support it. We have heard from so many of our working artist colleagues that 2020 and the  beginning of 2021 has been a difficult time since so many shows have been cancelled,” stated Melissa Paolercio CCArts Executive  Director. “Art shows and craft fairs are a huge revenue driver for so many local artists. We knew we wanted to do our part to  support them and what better way to invite our community back to campus then with a socially-distanced outdoor event.”

“The majority of the vendors are Delaware-based and will be selling handmade fine art and crafts including ceramics, jewelry,  felting, turned wood, painting and more. There will also be food vendors selling baked goods and local honey,” says Hartz.

Artists include: Stephanie Atkins (Mink’s Signature Foods & Desserts), Elisabeth Bard, Zachary Bloom (Zachary Bloom Jewelry  Designs), Damaris Colon (London Rock Art), Sue Ann Cox (The Fairy Potter), Christina Fabris and Joseph Csoltko (Iris and Callisto’s  Apiary), Pam Horstmann (Painted Threads), Bethann C. Kelleher (BBK Ceramics), Becki Mott-Lynn (Flossie’s Umbrella), Stephanie  Przybylek (Creative Animal), Valerie Walton (Val Walton Art), Abe & Bonnie Warren (Handcrafted by Abraham Warren), Patricia  Whitman (Links and Pearls). The Center for the Creative Arts (CCARTS) is located at 410 Upper Snuff Mill Row and Rt. 82, Yorklyn, DE.  For more information about CCArts, visit the website at www.ccarts.org, or call the center at 302-239-2434.

CCArts has been offering classes in the fine and performing arts for over 40 years as well as art exhibits, community celebrations and  the popular Yorklyn Live: Open Mic Night. The summer program serves 800 or more children over ten weeks each year and offers  scholarships to children in need. Virtual Tour of American Swedish Historical Museum
Jul 15 @ 16:00 – 17:00

Join us on July 15 for a virtual tour and Q&A with the American Swedish Historical Museum!

Founded in 1926, the American Swedish Historical Museum in South Philadelphia is the oldest Swedish museum in the United States. The Museum is located on land that was once part of a seventeenth-century land grant from Queen Christina of Sweden to Swedish colonist, Sven Skute. The Museum’s architect, Swedish-American John Nydén, combined architectural features from three prominent edifices in his design. He modeled the main building after a seventeenth-century Swedish manor house, Eriksberg in Södermanland. The copper cupola atop the building is inspired by the one on Stockhlom’s City Hall, and the arcades which flank the Museum are patterned after those at George Washington’s home, Mount Vernon.

The museum boasts twelve galleries, including ones that focus on the New Sweden Colony (now Pennsylvania), traditional Swedish textiles, Pippi Longstocking, the accomplishments of Swedish women through history, and many more!

Painter's Folly Restoration / Preservation Plan Public Meetings / Open House
Earlier this year, Chadds Ford Township was awarded a grant through PHMC's "Certified Local Government" program to draft a Restoration/Preservation Plan for the historic site known as Painter's Folly. The architectural firm of Patterhn Ives, LLC, was retained to perform the work. In 2018, the local firm of Frens & Frens Restorative Architects of West Chester joined Patterhn Ives, offering extensive knowledge of the local area and experience in historic restoration and preservation.
Project Manager Carol Quigley states, "The benefits of revitalizing a historic structure though sensitive preservation extend well beyond the building and owner; in some instances, entire communities are positively impacted." This is certainly part of the Township's goal to preserve the historic structure and to create a site where residents can gather for educational and community activities.
Patterhn Ives has now reached the point in their endeavors where your input is sought. Two public meetings are scheduled and you are cordially invited to attend. Each evening's presentation will be preceded by an 'open house" of Painter's Folly, with guided tours available. Light refreshments will be served.
The meetings are scheduled for:
- Tuesday, July 27, 2021: 6:00 PM Open House/7:00 PM Public Hearing
- Tuesday, August 24, 2021: 6:00 PM Open House/7:00 PM Public Hearing
Please mark your calendars to join the staff of Patterhn Ives, the Board of Supervisors, and other Township officials for the opportunity to share your thoughts regarding the preservation and future use of this historic structure. RSVP: [email protected] or 610-388-8800, ext. 100.

LIVE AT THE FILLMORE: The Definitive Tribute To The Original Allman Brothers Band At Uptown! Knauer PAC @ Uptown! Knauer PAC
Jul 31 @ 20:00

The Top Allman Brothers Tribute Band Has Received National Acclaim For Their Appearance On AXS TV’s “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” & Has Been Named As A Featured Performer On The 2022 “Time Life Southern Rock Cruise”

LIVE AT THE FILLMORE (LATF): The Definitive Tribute To The Original Allman Brothers Band will be bringing the early music of the iconic Allman Brothers Band to the stage at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center (226 N. High St., West Chester, PA) this Saturday, July 31 at 8 PM.

Kicking off Uptown!’s tribute band series, LATF’s show will offer fans an exact reproduction of the live concert performances of the original Allman Brothers Band featuring Duane Allman, Dickey Betts and Berry Oakley. Musically and sonically, LATF recreates the experience of hearing one of the greatest live bands of all time as they sounded in 1969-1971. Particularly featured are the songs from the ABB’s monumental shows at Bill Graham's Fillmore East Auditorium in New York City in March and June of 1971 – when the members of LATF first heard the legendary band live.

"On June 26, 1971, I was at Fillmore East for the Saturday night late show, the last public concert at Fillmore East, the one the ABB band calls 'THE SHOW,' the one they feel is the greatest performance they ever gave. I've never heard them or any other band give a better performance before or since," said LATF Founder and Guitarist/Vocalist Lou Maresca.

LATF is the continuation of the band’s devotion to performing the music of the original Allman Brothers Band as it was performed in those early years before the untimely deaths of Duane and Berry Oakley and the departure of Dickey Betts. According to Maresca, “for me, those years were the ‘glory days’ of the Allman Brothers Band.”

LATF is the top ABB tribute band and has received countless accolades and rave reviews for their authenticity and musicianship. In fact, they’ve been named as a featured performer on next year’s “Time Life Southern Rock Cruise” and received national acclaim for their Spring 2017 performance on national TV as part of AXS TV’s “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands.”

The LIVE AT THE FILLMORE (LATF): The Definitive Tribute To The Original Allman Brothers Band show kicks off Uptown’s tribute band series, which will also feature such esteemed bands as Echoes: The American Pink Floyd, Eaglemania, Back In Black: ACDC Tribute, Studio Two: Early Beatles Tribute and many more.

This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state  agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
