Chaddsford Winery To Offer First ‘Adult Summer Camp’ Program This JulyCamp Chaddsford’s wine and beer tastings, lawn games, and pig roast dinner give Delaware Valley adults theperfect summer retreat
Chadds Ford, PA (June 19, 2017) – Chaddsford Winery will launch a comprehensive, half-day summer camp program designed exclusively for adults seeking outdoor recreation coupled with food, wine, beer, and fun.
Camp Chaddsford will be offered on three Saturdays in July 2017 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM: July 15, July 22, and July 29.
Upon check in, each participant will receive either a white or gray ‘Camp Chaddsford’ tee shirt, which will
determine their team for the day’s activities. The day will begin with a specially-curated Wine Tasting featuring Chaddsford wine and wine cocktails, and a progressive Beer Tasting with the founders of Locust Lane Brewing Company (Malvern, PA). Friendly, team-based games will take place on the picturesque Vintner’s Lawn, including Corn Hole, Scavenger Hunt, Sack Races, Tug of War, and Kickball.
After working up an appetite during the day’s recreational activities, the program will conclude with a festive Pig Roast Dinner, acoustic sing-alongs around the fire pits, and roasting marshmallows for s’mores. Attendees will
receive two drink tickets/person for wine or beer, and vegetarian options will be available.
The cost for Camp Chaddsford is $65/person or $60/person for groups of 6 or more. Space in the program is limited to 100 participants per day, and the event will occur rain or shine.

Join Newlin's staff naturalist for an afternoon of exciting environmental activities. Look for the pop-up naturalist tent in different parts of the park and discover the plants and animals that call Newlin home. While specific activities will vary by theme, you can expect to find interactive demonstrations, live specimens, games and crafts, and fun for the whole family!

Meditation sessions will guide you in settling your mind and opening your heart. We will use imagery, visualizations, mindfulness of body and breath, and the environment of Winterthur to cultivate relaxation, a sense of well-being, and appreciation of the natural beauty all around us.
Led by Alison Smith Driscoll, Mary Wheeling, and Beth Sheehy. Bring an open mind and heart! Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes.

The Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament Monday, August 7, beginning at 11 am at Wyncote Golf Club. The event benefits the SCCCC High School Scholarship Fund, which has been awarding scholarships to area students since 1995. Formerly known as the Second Saturdays Garden Walk, these walks are on the second Saturday of each month, year-round at 1:00 pm (unless otherwise noted). All walks begin and end at the Visitor Center and are free for Members and included with admission.
Join Winterthur’s Director of Garden & Estate Chris Strand on a special walk highlighting interesting and seldom seen parts of the Winterthur landscape! Walks last about 90 minutes. Tickets for Fireworks & Fountains Shows go on sale May 1 at 10:00 am at longwoodgardens.org. Admission is by advance-sale ticket only and tickets are limited. Fireworks & Fountains tickets include all-day admission to the Gardens. Blankets are not permitted. Guests can select from two ticketing options: Lawn Seating and Reserved Seating.

Bring your own chair to the show. Chairs may be set up beginning at 5:30 pm. Line forms at 4:30 pm. The Brandywine River Museum of Art would like to invite you to attend Andrew Wyeth's Pennsylvania Portraits, a fascinating conversation on the artist's approach to portraiture this Wednesday, August 16 at 6 p.m. The discussion is presented by Audrey Lewis, curator at the Brandywine River Museum of Art, and Gwendolyn DuBois Shaw, associate professor of American Art at the University of Pennsylvania, as a part of our exhibition Andrew Wyeth: In Retrospect. Lewis will focus on local subjects including Karl and Anna Kuerner and Helga Testorf. Shaw will consider Wyeth's relationships with models from Chadds Ford's African-American community. Tickets are limited and going quickly for this in-depth look at the work of Andrew Wyeth who celebrated both Chadds Ford and its residents throughout his decades-long career. The Museum will open at 5:30 p.m., with a reception after the lecture. Andrew Wyeth: In Retrospect is an exhibition of over one hundred of the artist's finest paintings and works on paper selected from major museums and private collections. The exhibition brings together both well-known and rarely seen works created between the mid-1930s and Wyeth's death in 2009 that reveal the subjects that continually inspired Wyeth and the evolution of his imagery. This once in a lifetime exhibition will close on September 17, 2017 and is not one to miss!
