On Friday March 13, former civil litigator turned local novelist KATHRYN PINCUS will appear at Ninth Street Book Shop [730 N. Market St, Wilmington, DE 19801] from 11:30 AM - 2 PM to sign copies of her just-released debut crime thriller, Long Hill Home [Koehler Books, 2/15/2015], and meet and greet with her readers.
We would love to share news of this event -- and exciting local book release! -- with your readers, and would be happy to set you up with a phone, email or in-person interview with Kathryn (or send you a complimentary paperback or digital review copy of Long Hill Home to check out) should you have any interest in covering her story.
Kathryn is a longtime resident of Wilmington, and a highly engaged philanthropist in the community. In Long Hill Home -- the sale of which sees 25% of author profits go directly to Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County Delaware -- she brings readers along for a thrilling ride that begins with a tranquil morning run along the Brandywine River, and culminates in a gripping narrative that tackles issues like social injustice, sexual violence, wrongful imprisonment, and illegal immigration with the sensitivity, subtlety, and smarts that only someone with firsthand experience on the frontlines of the justice system can convey.
Embodying one of Long Hill Home's key messages -- that society as a whole benefits when people are valued based on their character and conduct rather than where they come from, what they have, or how they look -- Kathryn is, her own words, "passionate about using stories to raise awareness and challenge people's thoughts on some of the most important issues we face in our communities today."
A bright, engaging and energetic new voice in the legal thriller arena, Kathryn Pincus has immediate availability for interviews, in which she can speak to a variety of timely topics, including but by no means limited to:
- How her career as a civil litigator prepared her, technically and emotionally, for writing criminal suspense fiction
- Cultivating empathy through storytelling: the personal and professional experiences that have shaped her perspective on issues like immigration, sexual violence, and income inequality
- Why she chose Habitat for Humanity's New Castle County Delaware branch to receive 25% of Long Hill Home's author profits
- The inspiring setting of the Brandywine Valley (which she herself runs every morning) and the shocking disparities that exist in "Murder Town, USA" (Wilmington)
