CCArts transforms outdoor field into a marketplace of fine handcrafted gifts & delicious food once a month to support local artists  and food vendors.

The Center for the Creative Arts launches a monthly outdoor market on Sunday, May 2, 2021 11am-3pm. “It is our hope that this  farmers market meets artisan show will become a community gathering place that nourishes people’s bodies and spirits with food  and art,” says Jennifer Hartz, CCArts Program Director and Market Coordinator. “When Jennifer brought this idea to one of our staff  meetings, I was really excited to support it. We have heard from so many of our working artist colleagues that 2020 and the  beginning of 2021 has been a difficult time since so many shows have been cancelled,” stated Melissa Paolercio CCArts Executive  Director. “Art shows and craft fairs are a huge revenue driver for so many local artists. We knew we wanted to do our part to  support them and what better way to invite our community back to campus then with a socially-distanced outdoor event.”

“The majority of the vendors are Delaware-based and will be selling handmade fine art and crafts including ceramics, jewelry,  felting, turned wood, painting and more. There will also be food vendors selling baked goods and local honey,” says Hartz.

Artists include: Stephanie Atkins (Mink’s Signature Foods & Desserts), Elisabeth Bard, Zachary Bloom (Zachary Bloom Jewelry  Designs), Damaris Colon (London Rock Art), Sue Ann Cox (The Fairy Potter), Christina Fabris and Joseph Csoltko (Iris and Callisto’s  Apiary), Pam Horstmann (Painted Threads), Bethann C. Kelleher (BBK Ceramics), Becki Mott-Lynn (Flossie’s Umbrella), Stephanie  Przybylek (Creative Animal), Valerie Walton (Val Walton Art), Abe & Bonnie Warren (Handcrafted by Abraham Warren), Patricia  Whitman (Links and Pearls). The Center for the Creative Arts (CCARTS) is located at 410 Upper Snuff Mill Row and Rt. 82, Yorklyn, DE.  For more information about CCArts, visit the website at www.ccarts.org, or call the center at 302-239-2434.

CCArts has been offering classes in the fine and performing arts for over 40 years as well as art exhibits, community celebrations and  the popular Yorklyn Live: Open Mic Night. The summer program serves 800 or more children over ten weeks each year and offers  scholarships to children in need. This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state  agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. CASH UNCHAINED Perfectly Blends Rock ‘n’ Roll, Country, and Folk Music to Recreate the Original Sound of Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Three

The Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center (226 N. High St., West Chester, PA) will be celebrating the life and legacy of “The Man In Black” as it welcomes renowned Johnny Cash tribute band CASH UNCHAINED on Friday, October 29 at 8 PM.

The nationally sought-after band, who is fronted by powerhouse, 22-year old lead singer James Tamelcoff, has spent nearly five years touring the U.S., performing at some of the most iconic theaters and venues, to share the distinct sounds of Johnny Cash and his backing band, the country/ rockabilly trio known as the “Tennessee Three.”

Dedicated not only to the authenticity of the music, sound and execution of the performance, CASH UNCHAINED is also committed to bringing the Johnny Cash experience to the stage thanks to accurate portrayals, costumes, and, most importantly, attitude and voice that only Tamelcoff and his band could provide.

In fact, fans and critics agree that Tamelcoff’s voice and passion for emulating Johnny Cash’s gritty, low baritone sound, are perfect for such recreating such songs as “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Ring of Fire,” and “Walk the Line,” plus songs from the end of Cash’s career, including his final hit “Hurt” written by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails).

CASH UNCHAINED is a unique tribute to the ‘Man In Black’ that brings the authenticity of Johnny Cash’s original performance to a modern stage,”said April Evans, executive director of Uptown! “I think audiences of all ages are really going to love watching them.”

The CASH UNCHAINED show is just one of many exciting upcoming events and performances at the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center this Fall including The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Oct. 31), Invictus (Nov.1), and Cherry Cherry: Neil Diamond Tribute (Nov. 5).

Renowned Lead Singer Steve Kelly, Who Has Shared The Stage With Such Stars As Pat Benatar, Peter Frampton, Joan Jett, Rick Derringer & More, Brings Neil Diamond’s Original Set List To Life

The Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center (226 N. High St., West Chester, PA) has announced that it will be celebrating a month of first-class, music entertainment, starting with critically-acclaimed Neil Diamond tribute band Cherry Cherry on Friday, November 5 at 8 PM.

Featuring veteran lead singer Steve Kelly, who has been performing since the age of 13 and has over 30 years’ experience sharing the stage with such greats as Pat Benatar, Peter Frampton, Joan Jett, 38 Special, Rick Derringer, Foghat, and more, Cherry Cherry has been hailed as the premier Neil Diamond tribute act thanks to their authenticity and dedication to the sound of one of the best-selling artists of all time.

Unlike other tribute acts, Cherry Cherry does not attempt to impersonate Neil Diamond. Instead, they choose to honor his songs and stage performances by personalizing each and every show for the audience. Playing such iconic hits as “Sweet Caroline,” which was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant,” as well as others from his 10 #1 singles including “America,” “Yesterday’s Songs,” and “Heartlight,” the group has perfected the art of recreation in its highest regard.

“Cherry Cherry, featuring Steve Kelly, is unlike any other Neil Diamond tribute show out there. It exemplifies talent and professionalism with the perfect combination of Neil’s exquisite sound and the band’s pure love of the music,”said April Evans, executive director of Uptown! “Audiences are in for a treat.”

Cherry Cherry’s show is just one of many exciting upcoming performances and events at the Uptown! Performing Arts Center in November. Others include emerging local Philadelphia band The Flying Komorowski Brothers (Nov.13); More Than Just Standards, featuring Jazz & Blues Vocalists Sara Michaels and Sharon Sables, (Nov. 18); Max Weinberg’s Jukebox, longtime Bruce Springsteen E. Street Band Drummer &  Bandleader for both Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien(Nov. 20); the Linda Ronstadt Experience(Nov. 21) and more.
