The Preview Party: An Elegant, Festive & Memorable Start to the Antiques Show

Be among the first to cast your eyes on the extraordinary

objects and furniture that are beautifully

displayed for purchase by the dealers at the Antiques

Show preview party on Friday, May 25, from 6 to

9 p.m. The antiques are not the only temptations at

the preview party, so, too, are the many food selections

prepared and presented by Brock & Company

of Malvern. These dishes include a scrumptious array

of butlered hors d’oeuvres, a wonderful selection of

smoked seafood & shrimp, multiple carving stations,

a dramatic sushi bar and many more culinary creations

available throughout the evening. Just when

you think the party is over, desserts and coffee are

served. Exquisite flower arrangements, made by our

talented volunteers, grace the building at every corner,

and lively and engaging music by “First Choice”

flows through the building. The preview party is organized

by volunteers Valerie Bozzone, Karen Carson

and Jane Johnson. Tickets are $125 per person

($50 tax deductible) and include valet parking,

A Reenactment on the 1st Friday in June --

An Annual History with Mystery Stroll

This year you can eavesdrop on the secret conversations, rumors, gossips and hints by local heroes of the past!

On Friday, June 1, 2012, from 6-8 p.m., visitors to Kennett Square will be able to eavesdrop on the secret conversations, rumors, gossips, and hints by local heroes of the past, such as the Coxes, Barnards, Carters, Pennocks, Mendenhalls, Agnews, Fussell, Lewis and more, along with Thomas Garrett! Our heroes will meet up at several sites on S. Broad Street, where they will quietly discuss controversies like abolitionism and the free produce movement, gossip about the Underground Railroad activities of their neighbors, or hear hero fugitives tell of their escape from slavery.

Frederick Douglass will be speaking from a soapbox on State & South Broad while the Camptown Shakers will entertain visitors with Civil War-era music. This free event will be sponsored by the Kennett Historical Commission and Kennett Underground Railroad Center. Educational entertainment the whole family will enjoy!
