Drawing on hundreds of contemporary news articles and primary sources not seen in decades, this book tells the true story of the first successful Star Trek revival.

AHMEC is excited to present a unique collection of screen-used and production-made artifacts that span decades, including costumes, weapons, communicators, even pieces of the starship Enterprise! A delight for hard-core Trekkies and casual fans alike, this once-in-a-lifetime exhibit is a chance to peer behind the curtain and see some of the most iconic props from the Star Trek universe. A Members Only Exhibit Preview and Speakers’ Series accompany the exhibit. All events will be conducted via Zoom. You can participate onsite at the museum or by using your computer off-site. Cost per event is $25.00 for non-members and FREE for members.

Kennett Square’s Holiday Light Parade on State Street kicks off the holiday season this year on Friday, November 25th at 6:15pm. Enjoy dancers, a DJ playing holiday tunes, floats festooned with lights, and the traditional Christmas tree lighting with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

NB: The Holiday Light Parade will follow a new route this year, heading north on the 100 block of South Broad Street and then west along State Street to Center Street.

Grab some dinner and drinks at the Market, then step right outside our door and enjoy the start of the holiday season with this fun parade.

Leadership Series Year-End Finale Will Feature World Renowned George Washington Interpreter Brian Hilton As He Discusses How To Use The Teaching Of Washington In Modern Times

 

The Washington Memorial Heritage and Indispensable Leadership (LLC) are excited to announce their “Historical Holiday Celebration” featuring world renowned George Washington Interpreter Brian Hilton on Thursday, December 8 at 6 PM at the Washington Memorial Chapel.

As the culmination to their year-long “Lead Like George” leadership series, this special evening will give audiences the opportunity to “meet” Washington and learn about his role, up to and during the Constitutional Convention, as he is interviewed by Indispensable Leadership’s David Cross. Attendees will also discover how Washington’s leadership style changed throughout the years and how his relationships with his contemporaries, helped pave his way to the Presidency. James Madison Interpreter Kyle Jenks will also join the discussion to provide his insight into Washington’s rise to becoming of one the greatest leaders of our nation.

This engaging and highly-insightful event will not only weave together all of the teachings from the past 11 leadership sessions but it will also provide insight into how to translate Washington’s leadership into today’s modern society.

Immediately following the discussion, guests are invited to chat with Washington and Madison while they enjoy complimentary wine and cheese.

Hilton, who has been portraying Washington for nearly 25 years, is the pre-eminent George Washington interpreter in the country. He has appeared at many illustrious events including three Road Scholar Events this past summer in Washington, D.C.; several George Washington Birthday Parades in Alexandria, VA; and The Center For Education Reform.

Immerse yourself in an evening of stunning ambience by candlelight, featuring angelic music by People-to-People International musicians Olivia Geiser and Noëlle Grüebler of Winterthur, Switzerland.

The Winterthur estate, now known as Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library, was named by Swiss-born Jacques-Antoine Bidermann, husband of Evelina Gabrielle du Pont, to honor his ancestral home.

Duo Noëlle Grüebler (violin) and Olivia Geiser (piano), dedicated their project, Winterthur and Music, to various composers linked to Winterthur, Switzerland, providing interesting insight into the vibrant musical scene of this town on the outskirts of Zurich. Join us for a Yuletide evening as we bring the two Winterthurs together through music. $15; $10 for Members. Reserve now.

Bites and libations will be available for purchase in the Visitor Center prior to the concert beginning at 5:00 pm, and until 8:00 pm after the concert, as you mingle with the musicians.
