As part of the online registration process, and for interviewing purposes, you will be asked to select from the industry programs offered by the high school that align with your business and recruitment needs.

One of the goals of the SCC Job Fair is for students experience the interview process with business and industry representatives in a welcoming format.

On the day of the Fair, upon signing in, you will be provided with a folder containing, among other things, resumes of the students interested in your recruitment opportunity. Also as part of the process, you will have the opportunity to conduct 10-minute interviews with the students. In addition, businesses will be assigned tables from which they can conduct interviews and to use for marketing information about your company.

Once your registration has been processed, you will receive an e-mail confirmation containing directions to TCHS Pennock's Bridge. For specific questions, please contact Jessica Snyder at [email protected].

Daniel Duran MDYour blood pressure and cholesterol can have a significant impact on your heart health, particularly when levels are over the recommended guidelines. If you have a family history of or have already been diagnosed with either condition, join Jennersville Regional Hospital for a free seminar, The Ins and Outs of High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol, presented by family practitioner Daniel Duran, M.D. The lecture is set for Wednesday, April 15, 6:30 p.m., at the Hilton Garden Inn, 815 E. Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square. Registration is required as space is limited.

Dr. Duran, of Family Practice Associates of Southern Chester County, is board-certified and a member of the Jennersville Regional Hospital Medical Staff. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and completed residency training for Family and Community Medicine at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, DE. Dr. Duran has been practicing in West Grove since 2002 and opened Family Practice Associates (FPA) in 2008, located across the street from Jennersville Regional Hospital. Family Support Line has dedicated the past 25 years to preventing and treating child sexual abuse.  New this spring, Family Support Line will open the Delaware County Children’s Advocacy Center. The Delaware County Children's Advocacy Center will provide a victim-focused response to abuse so children and families are able to heal. This program will coordinate investigations with law enforcement, child protection agencies, prosecutors, mental health and medical professionals, and victim advocates to work together when investigating allegations of child sexual abuse in Delaware County.

Celebrate Winterthur's amazing spring display on Saturday, April 18. Henry Francis du Pont planted hundreds of heirloom daffodils in drifts on Sycamore Hill in the Winterthur Garden. This important statesman was assassinated in 1865, 150 years ago, while watching “Our American Cousins” with his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, at Ford’s Theatre in Washington.  Chris Sanderson memorialized this famous man by collecting many very interesting and unusual artifacts which will be on display for this special exhibit.

20th Annual Chester County Race Against Violence @ Chester County Justice Center

Pre-registration is now underway for The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, Inc.’s (CVC) 20th Annual Chester County Race Against Violence, to be held Saturday, April 25. Registration and check-in will be held from 7:30 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. at the Chester County Justice Center, 201 W. Market St. in West Chester, on the day of the race. Starting times for the event are as follows: 9 a.m. for the 5K Run/Walk and 9:05 a.m. for the 1 Mile Walk. All proceeds from this annual fundraiser are slated for CVC’s supportive services to child and adult victims of all types of crime, as well as prevention/education programs on personal safety and risk reduction for all ages.

Chadds Ford Township and the Chadds Ford Civic Association will hold their annual recycle day and roadside cleanup for township residents, Saturday, April 25, at the township building. Activities will begin at 8 a.m. with roadside cleanup. Residents who volunteer will meet at the township building then disperse to pick-up trash off the sides of township streets. From 9 a.m. until noon, residents will be able to donate nonperishable foods, gently used clothing, furniture and home goods, as well as electronics for re-use. Additionally, residents will also be able to drop off for recycling the following items: electronics or “anything with a plug” with the exception of items containing hazardous materials such as Freon, confidential documents for shredding, and residential propane tanks and gas cans.
