 Doctor Lecture Focuses of Eating and Exercise for the Family

 West Grove, PA -- Eating and exercise both very much affect our health and quality of life. But, sometimes it’s hard to know what practices and guidelines are helpful and what, among the wealth of information that’s available, is based on good science. Join Jennersville Regional Hospital for a free seminar featuring family physician Stefanie Steiner, D.O., as she presents Family Eating and Exercise 101.

The lecture is set for Thursday, April 9, 6:30 p.m., at the Hilton Garden Inn, 815 E. Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square. As part of the evening, a representative from BeeFit will offer a taste testing of some healthy family favorites. Registration is required as space is limited.

A certified fitness instructor as well as family physician, Dr. Steiner is a provider at Family Practice Associates of Southern Chester County. She is board-certified and a member of Jennersville Regional Hospital Medical Staff. Dr. Steiner received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency training for Family Practice at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She has been practicing since 2003 and recently joined Family Practice Associates of Southern Chester County with offices in Kennett Square and West Grove.

Zumbathon for the benefit of HomeAID for Africa

Saturday April 11th a Zumbathon©-for-a-Cause takes place at Grove United Methodist Church, 2:30-4:30 p.m.

All ages 8 and over are welcome to come for 2 hours of fast-paced aerobic exercise to music, led by 6-7 certified Zumba© instructors in tag-team style. (Yes, there is a mid-way water/rest break and yes, you can drop out at any time for any length of time. Water is provided.)

The event benefits women and children in Africa’s very poor country of Malawi and is in partnership with HomeAID for Africa, a local 501C3. Advanced registration (by April 8) is $15, at-door is $17. Open to everyone aged 8-100, with parental participation required for those aged 8-12. In addition, businesses will be assigned tables from which they can conduct interviews and to use for marketing information about your company.

Family Support Line has dedicated the past 25 years to preventing and treating child sexual abuse.  New this spring, Family Support Line will open the Delaware County Children’s Advocacy Center. The Delaware County Children's Advocacy Center will provide a victim-focused response to abuse so children and families are able to heal. This program will coordinate investigations with law enforcement, child protection agencies, prosecutors, mental health and medical professionals, and victim advocates to work together when investigating allegations of child sexual abuse in Delaware County.

This important statesman was assassinated in 1865, 150 years ago, while watching “Our American Cousins” with his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, at Ford’s Theatre in Washington.  Chris Sanderson memorialized this famous man by collecting many very interesting and unusual artifacts which will be on display for this special exhibit.
