Race for Conservation Saturday, May 11
Runners come celebrate spring by racing for conservation on Saturday, May 11, 2013. The start/finish line is located at Stateline Woods Preserve, 814 Merrybell Lane, Kennett Square PA. This family friendly event has a supervised Kid’s Activity Corner, music, and food from Lulu’s Café on the Go. There are many challenges and great rewards for the 9K and 5K Runners alike. The Stateline Loop 9K is a participating race in the Trail Creek Trail Race Series—great cash prizes are awarded to the overall series winners. If you are only running our race, try your hand at the Purdy Darn Steep Pipeline on our 9K course. The first one to the top wins a $50 gift card from Trail Creek Outfitters. The Stateline Loop 5K race has great prizes to the winners and offers a moderately challenging course taking you through beautiful preserved open spaces. The Stateline Loop 9K/5K Trail Race involves two loops, moderate hills with one major climb, minor stream crossings, single-track trail and just enough of that "wilderness experience" to satisfy the true nature-lover. Great prizes will be awarded to our winners from companies and local businesses like: Dakine, Gore Running Wear, Concordville Nissan and Subaru, Billabong, Shoo Mama’s Café, Hockessin Athletic Club, Chester County Running Store, and Trail Runner Magazine.
For more information about the race, registration, and the series please visit our race page at http://tlcforscc.org/pages/statelineloop2013.html Thank you to our local sponsors: Dansko, Harvest Market Natural Foods, Penn Container, Advanced Orthopaedic Associates of PA, The Tri-M Group, Modell’s Sporting Goods, The North Face, Piazza Mazda and Acura of West Chester, ING, McGovern Septic, Trail Creek Outfitters, and East of Maui. We encourage area residents to support the businesses that support their community. We hope to see you for our 5th Annual Stateline Loop 9K/5K Trail Race.

"It is a pleasure for us to join our AAMD colleagues across the country in a celebration of art," said Brandywine River Museum director Thomas Padon. "The museum's renowned holdings of American art affirms the creative brilliance of generations of artists who have been influenced by and worked in the Brandywine Valley," Padon added.

Why attend Energy Independence Day?
As many of you know, this Sunday, May 19th, will be our 5th annual Energy Independence Day. Why should you attend? For many, many reasons…
- This will be our largest yet with over 25 exhibitors, 2 bands, canning and health workshops, tons of kids activities, including painting and potting projects, a scavenger hunt, and face painting.
- Since we have a number of single men here at WOR, we are also adding a bachelor auction! The proceeds from the auction will support our MoGreena Garden Project fund.
- We have expanded our gardens this year and are working with some local farmers and officials, the Chester County Food Bank and the Coatesville Youth Initiative to get healthy organic produce into the hands of those in need, and to also provide nutritional education as the program grows.
- WOR is being honored this week at the Governor’s Impact Awards, and by SCORE of Chester County later in the month, so we MUST be doing something right. Right?
- MUSIC! by Hellsaddle and Josh Komorowski and the Sons of Thunder, and some surprise guests.
- BEER! from Victory Brewing Company
- Exhibitors who are making our community and world a better place, including: MoGreena Garden Project / Chester County Food Bank , Philadelphia Block and Board , Take Shape for Life , Land Conservancy of Chester County, The Energy Co-op, 4CP, Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce, Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce, Hands Down Massage and Body Work, Childhood Dolls by Paula, BioGreen, Green Light Plants, Inverbrook Farm, Organic Mechanics Potting Soil, Birl Girl Designs, Hometown Green LLC, Ambit Green Energy, Fitchett Chiropractic, Robin Mastrippolito, Confectioner, Fred’s Foreign Cars, Paulsonbuilt, and the Coatesville Area Arts Alliance.
- And since she did such a great job last year, Brenda Brittel will be our food vendor again.
- Admission is FREE!
- The businesses at MoGreena, located in the historic borough of Modena, are diverse and creative, but all share a common theme: Everyone here is dedicated to making our community and our world a better place.
- Our friend Kathleen Brady Shea from The Coatesville Times thinks you should, and she knows what’s up.
But the MAIN reasons to come?
MoGreena is COOL and EID is fun!
SO! Now that you’re planning to attend, just remember to bring a blanket, some chairs, and a smile!
