What was once owned by Longwood Gardens is Longwood’s property again. Patricia Evans, Longwood’s public relations officer and associate vice president, confirmed that Longwood bought the Galer Estate Vineyard and Winery.
The Galers could not name the buyer before because of a nondisclosure agreement.
Evans said in an email that Longwood owned the property until 2002. The first order of business now is to preserve and protect the green space and agricultural land. She added that there would be no formal announcement about the purchase.
