The Unionville High School family dealing with two sons who have a form of muscular dystrophy is overwhelmed with the amount of support they’ve received. According to the GoFundMe page, supporters have donated more than $54,000 of the $80,000 needed for a wheelchair accessible van. The funding campaign started a month ago as part of the 25 Days of Christmas.
Joanna Johnson, a teacher at UHS and the mother of the two boys — Elliott and Henry — said in a letter posted on the page that she’s been “brought to tears” by the generosity. “How can we possibly be down when we are supported over and over again by so many people?”
