Doreen A. “Gam” Smith, 65, of Kennett Square, died Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Chester County Hospital. She was the wife of Jerome M. Smith, with whom she shared 24 years of marriage.

Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of Roland Phillips of Parkesburg, and the late Charlotte Brown.

She was a private duty certified nursing assistant.

Doreen was a loving wife, loving mother and friend to her children.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, watching cooking shows and watching the Three Stooges on TV on Saturday mornings.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, James E. Miller, III of Kennett Square, and Vidal S. Miller and his wife of Cochranville; two daughters, Stacy L. Miller of Newark, and Amber T. Miller of Kennett Square; one brother, Roland Phillips, Jr. of Coatesville; 11 grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one son, Shawn J. Miller; one brother, Nicholas D. Brown and one great grandchild, Joseph Dorsey.

Services and burial will be private.
