A duck derby and 5K run fundraiser benefiting watershed protection projects at Newlin Grist Mill is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, at Newlin Mill.
Organizers said the third annual Race for the Watershed Duck Derby & 5K is being held in partnership with Concord Township to raise money for projects aimed at protecting local waterways.

Events are set to begin at 9 a.m. with a 5K on park trails, preceded by a warmup led by Yoga Six of Glen Mills. A family festival featuring children’s games and activities, local vendors, live music, and a car show is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the rubber duck races in the creek are scheduled to start at 11 a.m. Organizers said runners 21 and older will receive a beer from Succession Fermentory at the finish line.
Admission is free for spectators. The 5K entry fee is $35, or $40 for day-of registration. Ducks can be adopted for $20 each or $50 for three, organizers said.
Medals will be awarded to the top three 5K finishers, and age-group winners will receive gift cards from local businesses. Duck race winners will receive cash prizes of up to $100 per heat, with a championship prize of up to $1,000.
Registration for the 5K and duck adoptions are available online through RunSignup and the Newlin Grist Mill website, organizers said.
Organizers said the event is sponsored by Opdenaker Trash & Recycling Services, with additional support from Agilent Technologies, Brinker Simpson, Encompass Health, Mathnasium, Pennoni, Propell Credit Union, Sun East Foundation, Team Toyota, Visit Delco and Wild Birds Unlimited of Glen Mills.
