The City Theater Company in Delaware will hold an Intro to Improv with Sarah McDowell on Saturday, April 4, at 5 p.m. Learn the fundamental principles of improvisational performing. Even if you have no desire to perform, improv skills go beyond the stage and are great for thinking on your feet, collaborating, problem-solving, and finding creative ways to live life. This workshop is appropriate for adults and mature teens (age 16+). No theater/comedy experience is necessary. Science Saturday at Hagley on March 28.

It’s another Science Saturday at Hagley Museum on March 28 with Ferry Impressive. Learn about buoyancy, density, and how boats stay afloat. Build your own boat and test how much cargo it can hold. Visitors of all ages are invited to discover solutions to science and engineering challenges. This is a drop-in activity; feel free to join the fun at any time. Activities are included in admission and are free to members. Science Saturday runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Concord Township Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, at Bush Hill Farm, 30 Bethel Road in Glen Mills. The rain date is Sunday, March 29, at 1 p.m.

Learn about Thomas Eakins during a virtual talk through the Chester County History Center on Tuesday, March 24.

The Chester County History Center is offering a virtual, pay-as-you-wish talk about Thomas Eakins, The Essential Thomas Eakins, on Tuesday, March 24, from 7-8 p.m. The speaker is Alice A. Carter, a writer, illustrator, and Professor Emeritus at San Jose State University. A gifted sculptor, innovative photographer, controversial teacher, and extraordinary painter, he produced more than 500 paintings and drawings throughout a forty-year career. Brusque, uncompromising, and unconventional, his personal and professional life was rife with scandals that divided his family and alienated his colleagues. Warning: Because Eakins’s bio includes adult themes, this talk is not suitable for children. Reserve your spot here.

The West Chester International Short Film Festival will celebrate its 20th Fest from Friday, April 24 to Sunday, April 26, 2026. This milestone year will feature three days of curated film blocks chosen from a record number of submissions from over 45 countries. The diverse lineup includes Oscar nominees and winners, local favorites, and stories representing voices from around the world. Over the course of the weekend, audiences will enjoy an engaging mix of genres within each two-hour block—pairing powerful dramas with compelling documentaries, imaginative experimental works, lively animation, sharp comedies, and other unexpected gems—all woven into one engaging program. Stanley Muncho is the winner of the pie-eating contest at the Barn Shops on March 14, aka Pi Day, noted as 3.14. The pies were simply whipped cream covering three Hershey’s Kisses. The idea was to remove the kisses using only the mouth. Hands were not allowed.
