Photo of the Week: Peace Garden
The Peace Garden at Birmingham Friends Meeting in Birmingham Township. The small stone has quotes from various people, including William Penn, former Presidents Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy, plus Gandhi and Eleanor Roosevelt. The large stone reads: “In memory of those who fell in the Battle of Brandywine, Sept. 11, 1777. In back of this in a common grave lay those who fell in this vicinity. Marked by the Brandywine Valley Farmers Club, 1920.”
