Police are now reporting that a 25-year-old man from Chester was arrested for making terroristic threats toward a 62-year-old woman at the Hillside Motel on Route 1 in Concord Township on Feb. 27. No other details were released
Avondale Barracks
• State police are investigating a case of counterfeiting. A report said a man used $80 of counterfeit cash at the East Marlborough Township Wawa on April 23.
• A 17-year-old boy from Chadds Ford was cited following a two-car crash in Pocopson Township on April 25. The accident happened at 10:22 p.m. at the intersection of W. Street Road and Taylor Chase Lane. According to the police report, the teenager was driving west on Street Road but crossed over into the eastbound lane while trying to negotiate a downhill right-hand curve and struck an eastbound vehicle. Police reported no injuries.
• A 35-year-old woman from Kennett Square was arrested for DUI in East Marlborough Township on Feb. 23. The woman was not named in the report, but the traffic stop was made at 10:43 p.m. on the Kennett-Oxford Bypass. No reason for the stop was mentioned in the report.

Kennett Square police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Gilberto Juarez-Mercado, 46, for the alleged sexual abuse of a mentally disabled female adult in the 700 block of South Washington Street. A police report said the department’s investigative division determined that the female victim had been sexually assaulted for more than four years by Juarez-Mercado, who was a family acquaintance. Juarez-Mercado has been known as Gilberto Juarez or Gilberto Mercado in his various social or professional capacities. Efforts by the police to locate him have been unsuccessful. He is described as 5’6” and weighing 130 pounds. Charges include rape by force, rape threat of forcible compulsion, rape of a mentally disabled person, and sexual assault. Anyone with information on the current location of Juarez-Mercado is asked to contact Sgt.
