With talk of some area hospitals closing or up for sale, a job fair is scheduled for this Thursday, which may help those seeking jobs in nursing or other health-related jobs. The job fair is scheduled for March 27, from 1 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Springfield YMCA.
More than 20 healthcare-related employers will be on-site looking for people who are interested in working in allied health services, hospital administration, home health, behavior health as well as nursing.
Among the firms scheduled to attend are Bayada Home Health Care, Fair Acres, Fair Acres, Elwyn, and Delaware County Department of Human Services.
But the fair is not just for healthcare workers or those considering a career in the health field. More than 70 businesses from Delaware County and surrounding areas looking to fill many needs, both full-time, part-time, and seasonal, too.
The fair is conducted by PA CareerLink® Delaware County, in partnership with the Delaware County Office of Workforce Development, and Delaware County Council Vice Chair Richard Womack is thankful.
“With so much uncertainty facing our local healthcare industry and federal workforce, I’d like to commend PA CareerLink Delaware County and our Delaware County Office of Workforce Development for providing this set of opportunities for our residents,” Womack said in a press release. “I’d also like to thank the businesses and hiring institutions that are choosing to participate for stepping up and for knowing that Delaware County is the best place to look for a workforce that’s trained, talented, and ready to tackle any challenge that’s put before it.”
Job seekers looking to attend the fair are advised to dress professionally and to bring several copies of their resume. They should also be prepared for on-the-spot interviews.
