• At the Brandywine Museum of Art, three exhibits are closing within the next month but three more are about to launch. Next up is a photo exhibit featuring two photographers from the 1950s. Robert Frank and Todd Webb: Across America, 1955 includes photos of their trips across the country, traveling independently of one another. It opens Feb. 9.
• There’s going to be a food drive in connection with Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Siloam United Methodist Church, 3720 Foulk Road in Garnet Valley. Items needed include canned foods, boxed side dishes, pasta and sauce, ramen, mac-n-cheese, jelly, peanut butter, bottled juice, oatmeal, granola bars, condiments, soap, shampoo, toilet paper, and feminine hygiene products. • It's going to be A Divine Night in Delaware on March 20 when OperaDelaware, First State Ballet Theatre, and The Grand join forces with the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Delaware to honor the nine founding sororities and fraternities established at HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). Performers include Talise Trevigne from OperaDelaware and dancers from First State Ballet Theatre. • David Christopher, the conductor and music director of Delaware ChoralArts and organist and director of music for The Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew, will perform at Longwood Gardens on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 3 p.m. in the ballroom. The performance is free with garden admission, but timed admission tickets are required. Go here for tickets.

• The Chester County History Center will hold a virtual event Emma's Postcard Album: Black Lives in the Early Twentieth Century. It tells the story of Emma Crawford (the author’s grandmother) and her life from 1906 to 1910, using Emma’s collection of postcard correspondence as an entry point into the highs, lows, and daily life of Black Americans during what is considered by some the darkest days of Jim Crow. This hour-long talk is on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. It’s a pay-as-you-wish event. Reserve a spot here.
