PSP offers free classes for teens

The Pennsylvania Police is offering a free, 14-week course on various elements of law enforcement. The Hill Impact Program is for teens 15-18 years of age who are considering careers in law enforcement.

According to a press release, the program introduces the youth to different elements of training and education, as well as physical fitness and paramilitary discipline. Attendees will also learn about the state’s criminal and vehicle codes and the rules of criminal procedure. It gives the participants a chance to learn what it takes to be a state trooper.

The Hill Impact Program will begin mid-January 2025 and cadets will meet one day a week in the evening. In the Philadelphia metro area, the program will be held at the Southampton Readiness Center, 2700 Southampton Road, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19154.

Interested teens should sign up quickly as class sizes are limited. To apply, contact Trooper Kathleen Guadalupe at 215-933-8909 or by email at [email protected].
