Coming up on June 30, the Brandywine River Museum of Art will present a new exhibit, Frank Stewart’s Nexus: An American Photographer’s Journey, 1960s to the Present. This exhibition is a dynamic retrospective of Frank Stewart’s photography that centers on his sensitive and spontaneous approach to portraying world cultures and Black life in many forms—including music, art, travel, food, and dance. His work over the years captured intimate and empathetic images of lives experienced and observed across subjects, cities, and countries. The exhibit runs through Sept. 22.

Eagles former Head Coach Dick Vermeil will be a guest bartender at the Solstice Party to help raise funds for a new Breast Health Center at Chester County Hospital.

Former Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Dick Vermeil and other local celebrities will be on hand at the Solstice Party to help raise funds for the new Breast Health Center at Chester County Hospital. Enjoy a pint drawn by celebrity guest bartenders and generously tip (cash only) your appreciation to benefit a new facility at the hospital on June 20, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at World of Beer, Main Street in Exton. The event is sponsored by the Women’s Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital, which has pledged $2 million toward a new Breast Health Center. The new center will allow the hospital to better serve members of our community facing cancer. With more space and the latest technology and equipment all in one location, it will expand capacity and vital services.

Learn about gin and junipers at Mt. Cuba Center on Saturday, June 15.

Mt. Cuba Center is offering an adults-only event Gin & Junipers on Saturday, June 15 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. This well-loved spirit has evolved from herbal medicine to a staple behind the bar, originating in the Middle Ages and popularized during the reign of King William III, gin derived its predominant flavor from juniper berries. Today, gin is produced in subtly different styles and brands. Learn the history of gin, and the role of junipers in gin production, and taste a variety of gins distilled with herbs, spices, and fruit. (Ages 21 and over.) The cost is $45. Register and pay here.

Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius will be performing at the Kennett Flash on Thursday, June 27 at 7 p.m. The cost is $25 with an additional $5 BYOB. The Kennett Flash is at Kennett 108 E State Street in Kennett Square. In addition to his group Stratospheerius, Deninzon is the newest member of the group Kansas. For tickets, go here.
