Police Log May 1: Harassment, trespass, burglary

Few details were released, but police said they arrested a 29-year-old Philadelphia man for shoplifting at the East Marlborough Township Walmart on April 27. The report did not identify the suspect, nor did it say what was taken. It only said the man was seen failing to scan various items at the self-checkout.

Police arrested a 40-year-old man from Newark for shoplifting at the East Marlborough Township Walmart on April 26. The suspect, not identified in the report, allegedly stole $110 worth of merchandise.

A 36-year-old man from Linwood, not identified by name, was arrested for stalking his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend. The incident happened April 27 on Longwood Road in East Marlborough Township.

Police said they arrested Nathaniel Lawrence, 19, of West Chester, on harassment charges. No details of the actual incident were released, but the report said the incident was domestic in nature and happened on April 16 on Brandywine Drive in Pocopson Township.

José A Navarrete Jr., 19, of Chatham, was cited for driving at an unsafe sped following a one-car crash in Pocopson Township on March 15, police said. According to the report, the 2004 Acura TSX he was driving ran off Lenape Road near Lafayette Drive shortly before 5 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Kennett Square Police Department

Borough police said they arrested Anita Hersh (no age or residential information released) on trespass and burglary charges after responding to a call about an uninvited person inside a residence at a home on Meredith Street on April 18. According to the report, two people at the residence told police that they heard the floor in the kitchen creak and upon investigation observed Hersh standing silently in the kitchen. When officers made contact with Hersh, the report said, she advised she was "just stopping to say hey" but did not knock on the door or announce her presence upon arrival. The victims advised they did not want to talk to Hersh and there was no expectation that Hersh was to come to the residence. Charges of burglary and criminal trespass were filed at District Court

An arrest warrant was issued for Chanel Green on April 21, according to police. The report said Green is accused of an April 5 retail theft at a business on Mill Road. She allegedly stole $4,465 in stolen merchandise, according to the report. Police added that she is believed to have targeted stores in Quarryville and Harrisburg on the same day. Charges for retail theft and other related offenses were filed with district court.
